So, to be clear, some cops showed up, tried to grab a guy because CHILDREN were WILLINGLY playing music, he pulled away from what any sane person would see as an attack, (especially given cops are literally constantly straight up murdering black men), getting away causes him to run into in a chaotic situation that the cops caused, the cop tases him, and you think this is all perfectly normal and okay behavior from the police?

Hey quick question, have there been any health complications from all the boot polish youve swallowed?

And ultimately if you hate cops it doesnt matter what happened. But if you want to get technical, there could be a legal curfew in place especially if its a high school game. Also, if a lawful order was given to disperse and you refuse, that could be obstruction, breach of peace, unlawful assembly, etc..

i never said of any of this. I merely provided the details of the incident that werent given. The police were already at the game, as its standard. The game had been over an hour ago and it was late. They told people they needed to clear the stadium and he refused. Thats what I said. I didnt add any of that extra whatever youre saying

I don't hate cops apropos of nothing. I hate them because they do stuff like this. Don't arrest and assault innocent people if you don't want to be hated by normal, sane people.

Mmmm delicious boot mmm he loves it

Whats actually happening here is that if youre determined to defend cops no matter what, it doesnt matter what happened. It DOES matter what happened to the people who hate cops; do you think we go around pointing at every thing every cop does every day as an issue? No. Because the situation matters. Ive been pulled over by cops for registration. Did I think the cops did anything wrong there? Nope. Because of what happened.

Meanwhile you dont give a shit what happened, youre going to defend the cops no matter what, no matter how far you have to stretch or what you have to make up.

No, you didnt add any of that. You conveniently didnt mention most of it. But thats WHAT HAPPENED. And you seem perfectly okay with that. Therefore seems like you think its pretty normal and alright bud.

Yes, its normal for people to leave stuff when its over. You dont stay at a store when its closed for an hour after

unless hes provided actual proof of this I dont believe it for a second. But either way he can wear the boot and still lick the boots of his peers. Thats how it works, in the end.

You do, however, often stay at events for an hour afterwards when youre literally PART OF THE EVENT. Have you ever like been to human gatherings? People often stick around and chat, celebrate, even play music. There is literally no reason whatsoever this should have been happening. Why were the police grabbing him in the first place?

The event had been over for over an hour. All the lights were off. They were lawfully asked to leave and he refused. He then became belligerent and shoved officers. This couldve simply been avoided if they just left and didnt escalate by shoving officers. I dont think taser was the appropriate response because you couldve easily gone hand to hand and just escorted him out. But their use of force policy could be different

wait bud. Hold on. You had just said he was already grabbed when he shoved the officer. So did he become belligerent and shove them out of nowhere, or did he get grabbed and shove them once theyd already instigated physical contact? Seems like you skipped a step there. Coincidentally the one where the cops did something they shouldnt have.

We don't know what type of music they were playing.
Maybe they were playing pieces of music that triggered people , we don't know.
In which case, should they have been able to play it, despite it triggering people ?

Of course, Im obviously a darkprince45 alt because I have the apparently crazy opinion that police doing crowd control have more authority than a band director.
The quote in the first post mentioned the police were with school security. Kinda sounds almost like some school official with the authority to do so wanted the stadium cleared because they were likely forced to be their due to some legal/insurance requirement the school had and they wanted to go home, like most people who had worked all day probably would want.

so yeah, it was 10 o clock on a thursday night. people have work in the morning and I'm guessing 10pm is when the noise ordinance kicks in like most places

they gave him plenty of warnings he'd be arrested and he did resist, definitely a fuck around and find out situation. I couldn't see how he looked on the ground so idk if 3 tasing rounds was necessary or not

how is it authority simping? if you're violating a law and get warned multiple times you're about to be arrested and fighting with officers you're gonna get tased and arrested. plain and simple. the guy was being an arrogant dick from the second they told him to shut things down

lol, shut the fuck up. if you actually read my previous posts in the topic you'd see I was skeptical about the charges before I saw that footage

yes, noise ordinances are a thing. sorry to break it to you.

and resisting arrest and allegedly hitting an officer got him the taser, not playing music

I live a mile from a stadium, if I have to get up for work at 430 or 5 on a friday morning I sure as fuck don't want to hear loud ass music and obnoxious kids screaming, because yes, the sound does travel that far.

Man, you dont even have to like cops .0001 percent to see how the director was aggressive, confrontational, pushing cops, and flat out just doing the wrong thing. Hes for even people creating a barrier for him and a kid throwing herself at the cops to prevent them. The cop was calm and courteous the entire time and the director is throwing his hands in the air and screaming off the bat

To my mind, the officers should have just called the superintendent first, explained the situation and the band director either stops or is fired/suspended on the spot. Not really a need to deal with the band guy at all (to get him to stop). In either case, a higher probability for a non-violent resolution.

At the beginning of the body cam footage, the female officer said (after the band leader had already been engaged by police) basically "stop or we're calling the superintendent", which implies the police had a means to contact this person in the first place. By engaging the band director, they created a higher peak to de-escalate from.

Yes, the band leader should have stopped immediately (it looks like they just finished the song though) but a violent confrontation didn't have to occur here.

Consider a hypothetical. What would be different about this situation if the cops weren't there? Their presence created an unnecessary confrontation with a citizen doing, AT WORST, playing music at 10pm in violation of some petty local ordinance. This man has civil rights, firmly established by law. Freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition for a redress of grievances. That legally overrides any petty city ordinance or policy. This kind of policing destroys communities. It is completely toxic.

if the cops weren't there the stadium staff would have just let that shit continue, as you saw while they kept defending him. hell, all of them crowding around are probably why the cops couldn't execute a clean takedown and had to taze him in the first place.

but that just means the cops would have had to be called because of the disturbance and would have been there anyway.

and besides, the cops are always going to be at these games, because as is evident by the video, these schools take high school football way too fucking seriously.

Freedom is the price for security, eh? I think we can aim for a police force that can respond to emergencies without manifesting a malevolent presence in public society. When you talk about the "amount" of shootings and stabbings, I'm curious. What does it amount to? What numbers are we talking about here?

if you had actually watched the video you would know the director said "it's the last song" right before he told the cop to "get the fuck out of my face" 7 times.

just for a test, why don't you go up to a cop who's working and tell him to get the fuck out of your face even once and see how it goes.

This exactly my point. It is not illegal to tell a police officer to "fuck off." Nor should it be. This is established law. It's not even up for debate. You're just wrong. If a cop assaults you and arrests you for that reason, your rights have been violated, and that cop isn't fit for the job. Those are the exact people we need to discourage from going into policing. Instead, we coddle them, let them get away with whatever they want. It's despicable, and shame on you for encouraging it. It's a pox on communities, and it would be so easy to fix.

The simple act of saying "get the fuck out of my face" is STILL legal, in that scenario.

Why do you apparently support police brutality so much that you're desperately searching for an example?
