so i was in act 3 and saving the people in the underwater prison.

What makes Otto's Irresistable Dance 6th level while Hold Monster is 5th level? They both target 'Creature', they both use a WIS save. But Hold completely disables actions and makes attacks against the target auto-crit. Considering what I'm hearing about Dance in BG3 I guess I'm asking this about 5e tabletop

i think at the moment the dance is bugged, people are saying that even though the text says enemies should make a save they never actually do. the text also says they would make attacks at disadvantage but i didn't see any attacks in that fight. since it's 100% to hit if the enemy can be charmed then you can effectively just take an enemy out of the fight, 10 turns of an enemy doing nothing and you get advantage attacking them.

Well, it is irresistible, after all. That's just accurate marketing.

Was watching different variations of the ending and you can make some pretty interesting choices late game, although many are very abrupt without much depth.

If you become a mindflayer and the Emperor is still around you can suddenly just eat his brain and kill him with a choice in the epilogue.

You can actually ally with Gortash not betraying you. He joins you when you first see the netherbrain but he gets killed pretty quickly by the brain.

completed the quest in act 3 to find the murderer, think i should have done that way earlier, or i'm just really overpowered. fought sarevok and killed him super easy, didn't even have to use the dancing cheese, though i did have 2 devas and an air elemental. because the elemental was out, he walked away from the center of the room, so when the fight started only 3 enemies joined the fight. saw that 2 were spellcasters so i used the air elemental and shadowheart to silence a big area. took down sarevok easily since he only had 262 health. he couldn't stand up to the power of 5 hand crossbow shots with sharpshooter, and 3 hits with GWM and some smites on crit. didn't even need haste or other buffs.

I usually don't hope for DLC, but I'd buy it for this game.
Plenty more stuff to explore, at least with the ending I got.

Just restarted as Durge half orc Monk. Gonna be fun.

Updated: 9/21/2023, 2:40 p.m. ET: In a statement to Kotaku , a Larian representative said Newbons comments were in reference to a quest line at the Roysmorn Monastery that hadnt been found at the time of the autograph stream the clip originates from. The quest nets you a powerful weapon in the Blood of Lathander, and can result in you blowing up Astarion and other party members. Thats not behavior becoming of a good leader, but at least reactions like Astarions (once youve revived them) are extremely funny.
