i wouldn't call it one. it's kinda setup like the old yugioh games. like you have different areas you go to but i think they we're pretty linear unlocking them. then can go back to previous areas. it's a fun game and was cool to finally get to learn how to play the tcg.

You can select your area, and free browse challenging some opponents. It isn't a long game by any means. If you enjoy those kinds of games, I'd suggest looking into the Yugioh World Championship games for the GBA/DS. They aren't long and the rules are fairly simple to understand, really keeping to the theme of that particular game.

there's a lot of great games we never got in the states. the ace attorney miles edgeworth game we got sucked. so the 2nd one was japanese only and that one was actually really good. like probably top 5 in the series.

You can do majority of the clubs in any order, some do have extra requirements, but for the most part its pretty open world by that standard. You're probably not gonna want to fight the fire club straight off the tutorial with the bulbasaur deck though.
This is a signature to draw attention away from the fact that I don't have a signature.
Kinda?

PS4 looks great
No. You move from location to location from a world map screen instead of it being transitionless (this is the reason why Pokemon Legends Arceus wasn't quite open world either despite appearing/coming very close to it, and why Scarlet/Violet is)

You have freedom (mostly) in what order you tackle the clubs in, but that by itself doesn't make the game open world, it just makes it nonlinear. Another example of this sort of nonlinearity would be the Mega Man games (which also aren't open world, at least the classic ones aren't; I have no idea about more modern entries in that series)
