only to realize it's not as good as you remember. Perhaps it even sucks now.
I don't hold grudges. Let's vehemently argue today and casually have a beer together tomorrow.
Muppet Treasure Island. Once you get past the great jokes and songs, Hawkins can barely act so anything that isn't comedy or music misses by miles, despite Tim Curry's best efforts.
Ghosts are cool.
Sonic heroes...its still good but I don't get as much joy from it also its controls are way too slippery feeling after being used to more stiff controlling games in modern games
I am a mess and Felicia is the cleaner....
I could name a lot of examples of tv shows or movies I thought were great as a kid only to watch as an adult and find them pretty poor. I should also point out I'm 47 so shows I watched from a young age are from the early 80's and some of them can be quite cheesy by todays standards. It probably isn't as bad for younger people.

I'll stick to just one example. The show "The Greatest American Hero" It ran from 1981 to 1983. Watched a rerun just a couple years ago. First time in almost 40 years. It was a much different experience.

It's about a school teacher after a group of aliens gives him a red and black suit that grants him superhuman abilities. Unfortunately for Ralph, who hates wearing the suit, he immediately loses its instruction booklet, and thus has to learn how to use its powers by trial and error, often with comical results.

Loved it as a kid, but man is that show lame as an adult lol. Even by 80's standards it was cheesy.

The Rebel Assault games. The vehicle flying sections are just horrendous.

Gex definitely comes to mind. I remember loving it when I was younger, but when I tried to play it again a few years back, it just felt tedious.

Many other similar games I loved at that time have held up far better (Crash, Spyro, Croc), so it's just something about that particular one.
See children, Trumbles are bad, and if you don't believe me ask your dad...
The first season of Digimon. Nostalgia made me think it was great. After watching it again a few years ago, I'm reminded that it definitely is not.
You Can't Do That on Television

One of my favorite shows when I was a kid, watched every episode so many times. Tried watching it a few years ago as an adult and thought it totally sucked.
Every day I wake up and promise I will be nice to everyone, then I deal with people at work and remember why that will never happen.
Dragon Ball Z.
At one point, I wanted to go back and beat some of those childhood edutainment games like Zoombinis just because I never actually did as a kid due to the stupid padding most of them had to be functionally endless. I didn't think they'd be good games, but I clearly didn't remember just how shitty they were, so that thought lasted about 20 minutes.
