Most people in Switzerland, who weren't born rich, never own property. I don't either. But it's not that bad. Owning a house isn't considered a huge status symbol here (unlike in the US).
I rent a beautiful apartment, have a good job, zero debt, and at age 37 I already saved over CHF 150k for pension (on top of the CHF 2300.- that I automatically get monthly when I retire until I die). I can look forward to have a good living.
