I live in Vietnam. Its banned because of a map featured in the film that the Vietnamese government believe to be endorsing Chinas contested claims to waters that Vietnam feels belong to them.

Would this be something that could be fixed with CGI to allow the movie to be shown there? No sure if thats allowed but it seems like a quick fix technically speaking.

No shit? That is interesting.

Would you get in trouble for streaming it or is it a just banned in theaters type of thing?

Maybe, but the Vietnamese government is big on listening or compromise when it comes to banned media content. Id imagine their mind is made up.

Youve also got to consider that studios will be less inclined to pander to them because theyre not an enormous market like China.

You would only be able to stream it using a VPN, but as long as you didnt do so as a public event, odds are youd be absolutely fine.

I have a copy of John Wick 4 which is also banned over here. I brought it in from the UK and it was easy enough to get through customs because if I flash my work ID they just wave me through. I dont really see how I could be caught with it at this point but if I was I could probably just plead ignorance and they would just seize the physical media.
Neither. I dont watch many movies and neither of these particularly interest me

.. Really?
Yeah. They wanted an actual Barbie movie whereas I guess they felt most of this was about men vs women, with the Barbie aesthetic and references tacked on. I think they'd have both preferred whatever concept Amy Schumar had, as it probably would have been Barbie x Bridesmaids rather than Barbie x Elf
