twitter advertising is already way down since musk took over and traffic has been decreasing with their insane blunders lately. the advertisers that aren't coming back will go somewhere, and threads seems likely once it starts monetizing

Threads is still missing a ton of features if it wants to be a Twitter replacement.

It's just a chaotic stream of consciousness at the moment.

apparently they are planning on implementing more quality of life features. the initial launch was an insane success, they were probably waiting on the reception and to see what kinda features people wanted

Twitter might have survived if Musk did absolutely nothing and just kept business as usual at the company. Maybe even a non-zero chance of making the 40 billion he overpaid back.

Okay... this is a weird response that in no way actually refutes that the article is pure clickbait.

Do you think Im defending Twitter or Elon with that non response that has absolutely nothing to do with what I said?

reporting facts =/= clickbait. educate yourself

It absolutely would've survived, he destroyed it for his own ego.

yeah, his changes keep destroying his site more and more and it is laughable he completely destroyed his reputation turning twitter into an alt right cesspool

Nah. I'm certain they know what people want and what the app needed. The app was just nowhere near ready when the perfect opportunity to launch popped up. The rate limiting sent Zuck into overdrive mode and probably had them release whatever stable version they had right then and there to capitalize on it. Elon fucked up at the end of one week as much if not more than his other Twitter fuck ups combined, and Zuck said Threads was coming right at the start of the following week.

And the article says that the advertisers aren't even advertising on Threads yet, and the app is still in the implementation phase. Nor does it mention a drop in Twitter revenue or consumer usage.

It's not clickbait for the article itself...but this topic on the other hand...
...I think I'm done here...

Its literally not a fact that theyre flocking to Meta... it literally says in the article it hasnt happened. Click. Bait.

Weird that youre so defensive over something that actually hasnt happened. To the point youve tried to character assassinate me for something I didnt even remotely suggest, and then questioned my knowledge when Im merely going off what you posted.

Just weird.

if you bothered to read the article it explains how advertisers that left twitter are excited to advertise on threads. again, read the article and educate yourself

And it's not like he wasn't given ample warning that this would happen... parler, gab, and all the other alt-right shitholes crashed and burned before he ever acquired Twitter. He just had to bring his being a racist piece of shit into his business decisions though, and now is paying the price.

I really want Bluesky to succeed but it's too far gone at this point.
Thanks for reading!
Bluesky didn't scale and didn't have the money behind it. Nobody could get an invite.

As a platform alone it's the best alternative to Twitter but it has such a boring, insufferable community that even Threads looks better by comparison. I was fortunate enough to get an invite and even a month into it, it feels more like a late 00s platform in its dying days.

I think about your write up every time I hop on lol. I'm still hanging on (by a thread, hehe), but you're probably right.

All of this because of fucking Musk, man.
It's a pipe dream but I'd really love to see something like a MySpace reboot with its original concept in mind - users' pages being these modular mini-websites.

I mean Threads is only one week old and already outshines Twitter, imagine one month or one year from now how much better it will be

You spend a lot of time accusing others of ignorance while not having any clue what moving the goal posts means when Ive literally not moved.

But go off.

you claimed advertisers weren't flocking to threads when literal advertisers claim they are. then you tried "well they aren't there yet" when your original attempt got smoked. moving the goalposts. read the article and educate yourself.

Andel, why are you shilling so hard for the billionaire that played a significant role in getting Trump elected and continues to provide a safe haven for alt right material on Facebook?

i am happy that a lesser evil is helping to crush the worst social media site led by the worst person in social media. zuck sucks but is way better than musk.

Oh look, repeating the same boring click bait claims while still not understanding Ive made no changes in my original statement. Heres a hint; thats not moving the goal posts. Curiously enough, youre sure shifting your claims while continuing to claim Im the uneducated one.

Youre going hard to defend your bad topic.

doubling down on not understanding words and being unable to read an article is a choice.

Thats kind of crazy to think about, Elon Musk spent $44 billion on a money pit, everybody is moving to Threads lol

Elon shouldnt have called Zack a cuck.
Look! A distraction!
What's the active daily users like, as the guy in the article mentions? All of this is meaningless without that metric. This is just advertisers looking at new opportunities.
"Fear cuts deeper than swords."
I browsed through Threads the other day, but didn't find anyone I'm following. The app also kind of sucks, and the lack of browser support is stupid. Definitely need to get it running on par with Twitter's functionality at least, if they want this to be more of a flash in the pan situation. Just because Twitter is circling the drain doesn't mean people will stick with something just barely good enough.
