This will be the play through topic for the game! Post about your play through, dont feel inclined to play it right away if you werent ready yet but I thought it might be fun to have community topic on it!

General Tips:
  • Use idols to create checkpoints
  • Getting Idols increases health maximum, losing them does the opposite
  • Obtaining idols over your limit is a waste other then for healing
  • A set number of Idols can be exchanged for Blood Medals at the end of the level.
  • Blood Medals are used to upgrade weapons
  • Blood medals can be found in nooks and crannies, dont miss any!


My playthrough of level 1:
Beat the first level again for the first time in a while. Man I forgot how amazing this game was and how intense just the full level is, multiple bosses? Damn lol. My hubris got the better of me thinking I could beat the whole thing without setting any checkpoints. Then it turns out you can out exchange 2 idols for b. medals at the end of the 1st level. Pretty sure it increases by 1 each time. Anyways, the second machine dog killed me multiple times. Its so satisfying to deflect its missiles back at him though. The basic pistol is pretty good upgraded but decided to go with the bastard sword in hopes that the higher raw damage weapon will get better with range upgrades.

It was just a bonus game, its reviews arent as good but it was made by the same guy.

I love how quickly the settings change in this game. The backgrounds are never boring.

We arrive in the ecodome, akin to this games jungle level, and you hear bird calls and it's a very alien environment. I love the weird ferocious things with sythes for hands.

I was having difficulty with the hell Cobra at first but he gets turned into putty real fast with the hell hammer (shotgun).

It's the vertical run from acid portion that keeps killing me afterwards.

And I was cocky I was going to flow through this game getting as many idols as possible. I really want to upgrade my guns. I know it's only possible to upgrade all your weapons in New game+

Finally beat level two. I could have done it faster if I didn't insist on doing the vertical platform acid challenge and beating the flying insect boss without using an idol.

Now we're on the third pink world.

Still on level three.

Projectile lobbing enemies were difficult until I outranged them with Vroll's sidearm or reflected their own projectile back at them after a jump.

The Hive flyers I used to have a lot of difficulty with in my previous playthroughs but if you just stand on the bottom floor and run back and forth with Vrolls sidearm, You can can kill most of them before they dive bomb you.

And boy did I make a good investment putting most of my points into the bastard sword. I got it to level three and it has a power-up mode I never knew about where you do tons of damage. So by the time the hive soldier came around, I creamed him with one sword hit and two shotgun blasts. He's still difficult and I've had to redo it a few times because I'm trying to know idol run for this level.

Wow that's wicked I've never seen that handheld. Is that a streaming device or can it work independently like the steam deck?

I've done it many times before but this last time went pretty smoothly. The trick is to hit everything with the wolf light while stationary. Then when the worms get too close preemptively whack them with your sword.

Omg so I rage quit level 3

And started watching a speed run, no deaths, 100% idols, Blood medals, weapons and all secrets run.

The guy is incredible he beats the whole game in an hour and 36 minutes.


Turns out after just watching him play the first level I missed two blood medals. I didn't even know there was three hounds in the first level. There's a third one in front of the transport you have to activate but you have to drop down into a separate room.

that one Im not to sure about.
i mean you probably could, but if youre doing something intensive with it the battery will drain pretty fast, and the system itself heats up pretty quickly.

though If you can manage to do things on 15 watts, the battery will last a lot longer.
