Hey CE, I got COVID about a week and a half ago and as soon as my fever broke after a few days I started lifting - light at first, but now I'm back to my routine, though not my old numbers. Thought I'd share my squat workout from today. Biggest impediment right now is this crazy cough, which interestingly enough gets paused when I have heavy weight on me.

The ultimate goal is to make the virus so miserable it wants to leave.

Seriously. It's the only consistent way I get relief.

I got it April 2022. No cough or anything like that but couldnt workout for a month because any sort of activity put my heart rate into overdrive including walking up a few steps. Youll be back to 100% soon though, man.

Damn, yeah physically I was fine after the initial death fever and fatigue but that's when the debilitating cough developed. It was gnarly, but I could have had it worse, too. Much thanks and glad you're recovered.

Its wild how it impacts everybody differently. As cliche as it sounds, just listen to your body and rest as long as you need. I also pissed blood. Twice. A couple of months after I had Covid I set a bench PR. Of course, correlation does not equal causation but my body felt so rested after I recovered.

Right-on. I definitely feel like joints got a break and are rejuvenated from the rest period, might have something to do with that for you. Central nervous system, too. For me, the weight feels SO light the first few reps of anything heavy but my strength-endurance just dies out while ill and I have to rack it sooner than usual.

So I found out that beef bone broth is an awesome drink while sick. It's basically protein tea.

One bump for daytime people who want to talk about working out or COVID recovery.

What has it done to your weight, man?

I haven't weighed myself in awhile but I've definitely lost a bunch. Arms were looking small too, although a big part of that is just lack of glycogen from taking the sick break.

Luckily I was gaining weight before this happened and was around 225, so losing weight isn't as big a loss. I had armor, so to speak. If I had been on the low end of a weight cut that would have sucked.

How'd it affect your weight?

225? NICE.

It didnt really impact my weight too much either. My appetite was never impacted. Still had my taste and everything.

Now, umbilical hernia surgery followed by gallbladder removal surgery 3 weeks later? Oh yeah. That for sure was a wild ride earlier this year.

Yeah exactly, knowing I could lose 20 lbs and still be a fairly normal and decent weight for me was a good situation.

Eating has been a challenge first because my throat felt like I was swallowing glass and then heavy nausea, although now I'm a garbage disposal once again.

And damn, that's an unfortunate sequence of events! Glad you're over it.
