Yeesh

13 year old bought 16K worth of accounts, 30K in in-game purchases and the rest went to buying her friends stuff for games.

She deleted all the history of transactions so her mom wouldn't find it lol All just from January to May.

Perhaps it was a savings account that wasn't used regularly.

Regardless, that should have been flagged after just a few days, not months.

This could have been prevented.

As a daily gacha game player, I think gacha games should be banned and mobile game apps marketed toward kids should have mandatory monthly spending caps if they're layered with micro transactions.

That's why my debit card is no longer connected to my savings account. (You have to ask for this, as default is to have both accounts tied to your debit card)

That's risky for me. I keep my checking and savings separate. If I don't have enough for what I'm paying for at the time. Put it on credit. Pay back at the end of the monthly cycle.

When I was 13 I tried to import Japanese Pokemon Platinum before it released in the US. Got caught immediately and the transaction was canceled. Can't imagine $64k of items.

For people that don't understand the savings thing. It's not legal for most Chinese to do traditional investments (stocks, etc.). Which is why they often buy a house as an investment. Therefore people often have a lot of money in their savings account.
