The boycott literally did the opposite, people who had no interest in the game heard about it through the internet rage machine and looked into purchasing it.
This is probably true for some, but I wonder how many. I never would have known a Harry Potter game was coming out if our moral torchbearers hadnt spent their time frivolously berating people online about it to make themselves feel good. I didnt and wont buy it because Harry Potter is stupid, but still. There are probably people more open minded than me who looked into it more just because of all the bitching. Im sure the bitching worked on some people too though, as a matter of probability if nothing else. So I wonder which was greater.
