Sega Sammy has announced that it will be increasing the salaries of its workforce in Japan.
The games firm said that on July 1, employees will see a 30% bump in their wages.
Sega Sammy attributed the compensation revision to "further stabilize employee income and create a more comfortable working environment, as well as to further strengthen its global competitiveness."
Additionally, the base salary for university graduates will increase from 222,000 ($1,653) to 300,000 ($2,234), a jump of 35%.
Sega Sammy joins other Japanese gaming firms that have announced pay increases for their staff.
On February 8, Nintendo announced that it would increase employee wages by 10%.
Back in March 2022, Capcom said that it would raise the salaries of its Japan-based staffers by 30%.
Also, in March of last year, Bandai Namco announced that it would boost the base pay of its workforce in Japan.

Seriously though good on Sega
Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!
