The internet was pretty fun until smartphones started to become affordable and (literally) hundreds of millions of people with no media or tech literacy became the perfect marks for misinformation/propaganda/marketing campaigns.
You can choose what content you experience online. If you're getting frustrated and angry at the internet, maybe stop doing things you dislike.
Cross-contamination is a thing & the internets exponentially more centralized than it used to be, theres still some room for customizing your experience but its not 2006 any more.
