Cousin asked me to help him build a computer, so obviously I told him to wait until the weekend when I'm free, and I'll help him put together a plan for something he can build as time goes by as he has a limited budget.
He initially agreed, but less than 2 days later he tells me that he bought a pc on sale for 200 dollars CAD, and wanted to use that to upgrade for "gaming". I look at it, 8 gigs of DDR3, no graphics card, and it's refurbished (from Best Buy). Had he waited until the weekend, I could have sold him my old gaming pc from 10 years ago for 400 CAD, which includes a 770 graphics card and 16 gigs of ram; and is just taking up space.
Hell, work is doing a bunch of decomps on Tower computers we are getting rid of because we switched over to souped up Lenovo minis, I could have grabbed him one of those. Most of them are pretty beastly with their specs. The only reason we are getting rid of them is because they weigh like 50 lbs, and the tiny computers out spec them.
