I must have rewatched the original show dozens of times to pick up on all the extremely obscure nuances. The amount of hidden stuff and untold story progression is crazy.

I'm a huge DHMIS fan and the series is pretty disappointing.

Compared to the YouTube shorts there's barely any subtlety or mystery. It comes off like really high budget fanfiction compared to the previous content.

And to anyone confused, the fandom seems to call the 6 web episodes "season 1" and the 6 new tv episodes "season 2".
It should be noted that there's still plenty of gore. There's just less of it. But somehow it doesn't really feel toned down, you know? It has its own tone, all the way through, that resonates well enough with the original shorts to feel like it's a worthy successor, but establishes its own identity. It doesn't feel like anything is missing, is what I'm trying to say.
I'd like to go on the Dark Web, and look at a picture of a skeleton.

Id say its solid. It didnt blow me away, but its been so long since the original came out that maybe even the original wouldnt feel the same today. Either way, its pretty good, and reading the comments on some of the videos made me realize theres plenty of hidden depth that I was missing initially.

i really liked it, it's funnier than i expected, considering i think most of us expect just weirdness and occasional gore. it uses all three effectively

I thought the TV show version was referred as season 2. But it looks like its own thing. Luckily it looks like I can watch it on YouTube since someone else re-uploaded in there. Gonna give it a watch tonight.
