Nintendo isn't quite up to date with stuff, are they?
Their company culture is really terrible at nurturing ideasAlso I agree and disagree here. TPC has tons of spinoff games, and tries new things each generation. But they have a specific style and design philosophy that they try to stick to or risk having a game be too different from the series to be considered a part of it.
I'm thinking there was some kind of communication error that caused this. They probably don't understand what a nuzlocke is
TPC is incredibly protective of its IP. Officially acknowledging a fan name like "nuzlocke" could open a grey area for trademark reasons.I'm under the impression all the innovations comes from the top. The execs have new ideas, then the team tries to implement them with little to no room for proposing their own ideas. It's a Japanese business culture thing.

To say Pokemon hasn't innovated at all would be a lie, just look at Legends as evidence of that.
But I do think they keep too tight a leash around their new ideas, instead of letting them reach higher potential (ie. Mega Evolutions)
What are they talking about? Did they work for the pokemon youtube channel ir sonething? They're probably former Treehouse staff, or some other similar more niche Nintendo team.
Pokemon has been business for over 30 years idk why gamers would be offended or surprised Nintendo is outright against any ideas for their own IP.Its not Nintendo.
*edit*
Meant 20 years lol
Officially acknowledging a fan name like "nuzlocke" could open a grey area for trademark reasons. You do realize the word "shiny" is literally a fan name right?
Its not Nintendo.
Nintendo owns Pokemon. And TPC operates almost completely independently from Nintendo.
Nintendo owns Pokemon.
Nintendo owns Pokemon.Nintendo co-owns Pokemon.
