I used to preorder pretty regularly back in the PS2 era, because back then there was an actual risk of not finding copies of games around the release window. That's not so much of a thing anymore (at least for regular editions)

Now I rarely bother, the last game I did it for was Smash Ultimate so I could get it at midnight, but I think the last one before that was like Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
I'm far from high end, I just know what suits me.

I pre order certain special edition games digitally, and physically I've preordered a few games that were imported.

When you do digital you have to pay the full amount up front right? I've only done physical ones with the 5 buck deposit lol

i didn't really stop pre-ordering games, there just aren't really that many that come out these days that interest me. last one i did was doom eternal. it came with a free copy of doom 64. worth every penny brah

last one before that was a link between worlds in 2013 lol

MGSV was the last time I pre-ordered a game. Not because of anything to do with the game but I went pretty much strictly digital after unless it's a Nintendo game. Which I can find in store at any time day of release.

FF7 Remake but that was digital. Last physical copy....I think collectors edition for Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Was the only person there at midnight for it. The rest were there to pick up nba 2k....was the only weeb.

I only preorder games if there's physical goodies I want. Last one was the FF7 remake with the cloud figure

Bioshock Infinite

Only preordered it get the preorder bonus DLC and TF2 items. It seemed like a low risk preorder since the game was basically guaranteed to be good. I'm unlikely to preorder any time soon given that it's just not really worth spending 60 on a new game when I can a year or so and get it heavily discounted.
