Genuinely surprised to learn that, thought she was in her 30s

Yeah she looked much older I thought.
Trying is the first step towards failure, so just dont give it a shot and you cant dissapoint.

I've known for years that she's younger than she seems, but my brain still refuses to accept it and classifies her as being older. I think it's honestly due to her attitude more than her appearance. She has this sort of maturity/wisdom to her that feels fairly uncommon, and is pretty cool.

John Ashton was only 36 when he played Sgt Taggart in the first Beverly Hills Cop

Julia Roberts is another one that trips me up. She was 21/22 while filming Pretty Woman

According to Wikipedia, she was born in 1967 and the movie came out in 1993 - she was 26 at release and 25 during filming.

Indeed I would defile her booty. Sexually, of course

Real talk though the reason she seems so old in that movie is because her love interest is Sam Neill, who is quite a bit older than her
$ex
Holy crap. Youd think she was around 30 at the very least. Btw Sam Neil is actually 74!

Yea normally this stuff in movies is creepy as fuck but I don't think her character is supposed to be 23 in the movie.

Looks 35.
Its weird how things like that work. Like in Starship Troopers, Dean Norris is only 5 years older than Casper van Dien.

Its weird. Shes definitely attractive (and still is) but yeah she looks older than 23.

She's always had that old-but-fuckable look.
She actually looked younger in the third movie than she did in the first one. I get the feeling that's why they made the otherwise pointless decision to break up Alan and Ellie. He looked like he was pushing fifty and she looked like she was thirty.

I still think it was stupid of the filmmakers. Ellie's nothing more than a cameo, so it's not like he has a young woman hanging on his old arm the whole film. The breakup contributed nothing to the story. It just undid the good feelings of the first film and that's the absolute worst thing a sequel can ever do.

I genuinely cannot think of a couple in a science fiction movie that I cared about more than Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler. That was the emotional core of the first movie whether people realized it or not. She wants kids. He hates kids. It's about Grant's journey from disliking children to realizing he's ready to become a father.

The dinosaur action sequences are just as good throughout the series. What's missing is that heart. It's characters that you care about. Owen Grady is fun, but he feels like he stepped out of a video game. I feel like he's the Sega Genesis version of Alan Grant who runs around throwing smoke grenades at dinosaurs. And his relationship with Claire feels a lot more Hollywood-y and less sincere than the relationship from the first movie.

Ummm... she looks extremely old.

I didn't think she was in her 20's at all.
Thats crazy. So was she hooking up with her older boss/mentor? And thats why their relationship didnt last?

I thought she was his student in the novel -- engaged to a doctor and not romantically linked to Alan in any way -- and his partner in the movie.

In the book she was his student and they weren't romantic. In the movie I don't remember if they ever said she was a student of his.

Yeah, there's nothing in the movie that even hints at her being his student/junior/subordinate. They're both doctors and seem to carry equal authority in their respective fields.

It's still weird as shit. But I mean if they had given Bryce Dallas Howard's role to some 20-year old actress instead it definitely would've raised some eyebrows.

She looked older and that is never good for a woman, thought she was early 30s in JP 1.

That article's math is a bit off. She was born in 1967. So was 26 when the first Jurassic Park came out and 24-25 when it was filmed. But yeah, she did look like she was at least in her 30s at the time.

Judith Hoag who played April in the first TMNT was only 21-22 at the time. She looked around late 20s/early 30s. Alison Doody was 23 in The Last Crusade. She looked at least like she was in her 30s. Hell that's probably the age her character was seeing as how she was an experienced archaeologist.

Well, it felt completely appropriate to fall in love with Sam Neill. And it was only now, when we returned in a moment of cultural awareness about the patriarchy, that I was, like, Wow! Were not the same age?
vickfan-chucky they hated Jesus homie
chuckyhacks-who teh hell is "jesus homie"
People seemed to have aged faster back then. I've seen high school pictures from back in the 60s and 70s and some people already looked like they were pushing 30. I've also watched movies and TV shows from around those times and some of the actors looked like they were at least a decade older than their actual age.

For instance, when All In The Family premiered, Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton were only in their mid 40s. They looked at least mid 60s. Rob Reiner was also only in his early 20s and he looked at least late 30s. Abe Vigoda already looked like he was in his 70s in The Godfather. Angela Lansbury pretty much always looked older than she was. The actor that played her son in the original Manchurian Candidate was only just a few years younger than her.
