Bought it yesterday because of this topic, just reached the second door and I'm intrigued. Looking forward to the rest.

I'm going in completely blind and plan to keep it that way, but I am a bit curious how this game handles endings. Is there anything I should be aware of in order to get some "true" ending? I am making multiple saves so I can go back and pick some different options if needed.

There are multiple endings, but all of the non-true ones are short bad endings. I'd just save at choices just to be safe (there are a few non-obvious ones), but otherwise, you don't have to be super concerned about any choices throughout the game.

Didn't play it over the weekend (started Ys IX instead), but I read chapter 2 last night.

I didn't care for that story as much as I did the flaxen-haired family story, at least during the first half. The reveal of Yukimasa being the bestia was pretty good though, and if I understand correctly that dude is just STILL in the cellar lol.

I'll probably read chapter 3 sometime this week. Curious to see how this all ties together.

Also I'm getting some heavy Umineko vibes from the general setting, and it wouldn't surprise me if this game was inspired by it.

Not changing this sig until 250 people ask.

I wasn't huge on door 2 until the Pauline death, even though I predicted that she was the other 'beast', and the reveal of Yukimasa being fucked up all along. It really tied together at that point.

It's probably one of the weaker doors in spite of that, though.

???

I'm pretty sure there is no adult version of the game.

Might just mean it doesn't censor the gore then?

The main game doesn't hold anything back with either gore or nudity, and there aren't alternative versions available.

I'd have to assume an 'adult version' is a fan mod, and it sounds a little dubious, honestly.
