What game should I play next?

Help me decide what game to play next.

I just finished an exhausting long play of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Liked the game but it was way too long for its own good.

I'm looking to take a break from such long games and play something that'll take no more than 20 hours or so.

I cant recommend Disco Elysium enough but itd most likely run you over 20 hours, so maybe RE Village instead.

The only one of those that I've played is Resident Evil: Village and I can't, in good conscience, recommend that.

Wow. I didn't think it would be this close. I know it's still early, but I guess I'll go ahead with Disco Elysium first. I know it may be a little bit longer than 20 hours but I could use a break from a lot of action right now anyway. I'll play Resident Evil next after that.

I'd say that Village is probably in my bottom 3 RE games. Maybe bottom 4.

So what was your issue with it? Felt mostly like RE4 with some of the mechanics of RE7

It felt like it was trying to be 4 but completely failed.

The mechanics of 7 don't go well with an attempt at 4, IMO. It also lacked an understanding of the weapon system of 4 and had long sections with no combat which are very boring on repeat playthroughs.

Also, RE has always had bad stories but this one is a whole new level.

Disagree, as I felt certain areas, like the village and castle, nailed that feel...

I'm not against variety but I feel like none of the various settings we're actually all that strong.

The problem was that while it had a comparable amount of weapons, each new one made the previous one in that class obsolete.
