Got a used Lumix FZ1000 for $400, with 2500 photos taken. I know it's a newbie camera since you can change the lenses, but it's literally my first camera. I also want to record some videos so its 4k helps.

I get it next week and I'm already going crazy by looking for addons and extras on Amazon.

I have no idea, but I saw it mentioned in all used cams offers so I assume it's important.

If you want a decent cheaper camera from what I've read, mine's little sister FZ300 is also OK. Less pixels, more zoom in enchange.
if youre just learning its fine, I dont consider myself an expert but I do partake a bit in photography- youre gonna wanna learn about composition and the rule of thirds at minimum and then like read On Photography by Susan Sontag if you really wanna get into theory

i know next to nothing about photography, but i'm in the market for a good inexpensive camera myself. does the amount of photos taken in a used camera make a difference? is it like mileage on a vehicle or something? does it physically wear down over use?

To my understanding- its basically just wear and tear, the shutter moves up and down to allow light to reach the sensor so the mechanics do get used and can wear down tho I dont think Ive ever seen an SLR shutter wear out - think like tires and how they wear down - 10k photos might be the end life for an entry level SLR so assume the risk if you buy something near that range
