The rent control limitations do not apply to: 1) any rental unit when the first certificate of occupancy for the unit was issued less than 15 years from the date of the notice of the rent increase

Does this mean that rent control does not apply if I have lived less than 15 years in my apartment?

That's my understanding of the information presented
"You go. I'm just going to stare at the lake and think about how I almost just killed a baby."
Thank you, PoundGarden. Guess my rent is about to go up 100 dollars.

Could be wrong, but that's my takeaway. You can always talk to the landlord and see if they'll make an exception or maybe meet you halfway @ $50, especially if your rent is always on time and you don't have any complaints against you.

If my rent goes up more than $10 a year, I vacate. $100? For what? Did you hire me my own personal prostitute?

His reasoning is that he charges more for other units. Kind of shitty because how is that MY problem?
