Well then wouldn't bots just line up in a queue? Not if there was a captcha.
Well then wouldn't bots just line up in a queue? So? You have a better chance than waiting for a time to click on the refresh button, only to be met with "oh deer" or "out of stock" 20 minutes after you pushed the button. At least you'd get to buy the damn thing and just wait for it to ship. Plus, you might not even be available to even try to buy one the way it is at the moment. Like, you might be at work or something when stock becomes available
Not if there was a captcha.
Is that so?No way! A captcha that's just checking a box can be defeated?

No way! A captcha that's just checking a box can be defeated? It's actually really hard to defeat those things using just scripts. This guy got around it by having the robot press external interface stuff to mimic the click coming from someone actually using a mousepad.
Someone still has to pay $500 per console, and if a system is setup where people know their place in line, the chances are much greater that the people buying in bulk are gonna be stuck with a bunch of inventory that they cant unload, because Sony is gonna keep producing products as long as the sales are there.
Is that so?That's a captcha from like 10 years ago. These days it's 20 minutes of click all the traffic lights
