EC: Is you and your siblings voting where to eat for dinner. Your brother and sister wanted McDonalds so fuck where ever you wanted to go.
This is a terrible analogy.
This is a terrible rebuttal.
You described popular vote. A voter pool of 3. 2 votes for one option, 1 vote for another. The option with 2 votes wins.
You need an intermediary layer to represent the EC, that distorts the value of single votes.
EC is like saying you and your two siblings voted for BK but your parents both voted for McD and they go since we matter more, our votes are worth double so we win you lose and they get McD for dinner

You and your brother whom you share a room with want Wendy's. Your sister, who is an uneducated hick, wants McDonald's. Since her bedroom is bigger, you have to have MxDonalds.
