Found it to be really good and brutal. Despite the runtime I didn't feel like it really dragged at all. I liked the tension during the characters' trek where it felt like any moment something terrible can happen.

I want to watch some of this director/writer's other films now. They any good? I see he wrote the Puppet Master reboot, loved those movies when I was younger.
Bone Tomahawk was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I'm consistently stunned that people liked it unironically.

It was a great movie, solid 8/10 for me

Rarely do I cringe during a gory scene but chopping someone in half groin first was horrific.

I liked Bone Tomahawk somewhat but I've been put off his other films after reading reviews, frequently see them described as right wing fantasies

lol i rmembered i enjoyed that movie a lot. dont know why ppl hated it. were some of the practices shown in the movie based on real shit natives used to do? Was never sure if that was real or just for hollywwod purposes
Great movie. The third act was gruesome as fuck.
Let me talk to your mother. Get your mother please.
You need to watch dragged across concrete. Brawl in cellblock nine is also really good

I'm pretty far on the left and I don't think this. They are more complex than that

Just watched Brawl in Cell Block 99. Didn't like it nearly as much as Bone Tomahawk. As for what I thought of it I'd probably have to stew on it a bit more. It was pretty much 2 hours of watching absolute misery. I'll check out Dragged Across Concrete probably next weekend.

Eh, I can kind of see that. I didn't really read as much into it perhaps but there were aspects of Brawl in Cell Block 99 where I could understand someone getting and walking away with that impression.
Is it on Hulu?
When was the last time you heard your boy Nas rhyme?

How are the jump scares, if there are any?
I've liked all of Zahler's (iirc) movies so far, but I don't anticipate seeing any of them a second time ("two hours of absolute misery").

he's follow up wasnt nearly as good, Brawl in Cell Block 99. Just as brutal, maybe more. just doesn't have the same quality cast or narrative as bone tomahawk.
Minimal, yet feature rich.

I still havent seen any of Zahlers movies, but with the way people describe the violence, they always sound way too rough for me. Ive heard theyre great though.

I don't really remember there being any. There are sudden bursts of really intense action that may make some jump though

Look, if every character's going to talk like his dialogue went through a thesaurus several times (seriously, who wakes up terrified, and the first thing they say is 'What occurred!?' or when viewing the scene of a fight remarks 'This is where it capsized' among many other extremely weird-sounding things) and make a ton of stupid fucking decisions that an actual human would never make... then yeah sure, I'll never come back :P

Started out strong, went to shit insanely fast and then just kinda stayed there for the rest of the movie.

Matthew Fox was the only decent bit in the whole thing.
