The front page (highest voted posts of the day) is filled with Blizzard hate.

...If you some how missed it, Blizzard cut a player from a high-level tournament, took away his winnings and banned him for like a year because he made a comment supporting Hong Kong during the competition.
Bosses are immune to the eat command so it won't be possible to end the final boss fight of the game by eating it.

Oh it is. Blizzard is a trash company and deserves all the hate it gets. E-Protesting is going to accomplish nothing, of course, but it is fun to read the comments.

Subject doesn't matter. Guy could be saying something horrible like Hitler was right; doesn't change the fact he earned his winnings in that competition legally and legitimately (presumably). His opinions and political views shouldn't disqualify him from that.

Im once again going to say that officially the United States cannot safely support Hong Kong or Taiwan. Because China would go to war with us if we do. Theyre that insane.

If they're really willing to do that, I wouldn't oppose in being apart of the third world war. They're horrible

He clearly broke Blizzard's competition rule:

https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/23179289

Engaging in any act that, in Blizzards sole discretion, brings you into public disrepute, offends a portion or group of the public, or otherwise damages Blizzard image will result in removal from Grandmasters and reduction of the players prize total to $0 USD, in addition to other remedies which may be provided for under the Handbook and Blizzards Website Terms.

This has nothing to do specifically with supporting Hong Kong, he could have talked about Israel/Palestine and he still would have been punished.

When you are the good guys, you can invade the Middle East and kill millions of civilians because they had 'weapons of mass destruction'.

This, if he had made a pro-China statement there would have been 0 repercussions, imagine defending Blizzard here
he was banned and lost his money because he did what he did during a live Blizzard stream . would have done it on his own time if he didn't think it was worth getting punished.

but anyone making *any* sort of political statement on that platform would be punished

Correct, but because Hong Kong is the current hot issue, it's going to receive a ton more attention and backlash.

And yet the left gets butt furious when the right says they are against globalization. This is why, you give power to these communist countries for the sake of cheaper goods. Gotta bring those jobs homes and not allow unions to wreck them.

Without unions, the workers would be treated poorly by their companies. You're basically saying that in order to stop outsourcing, companies should be allowed to treat their workers like crap to keep as much money in their own pockets. There's a reason why they started outsourcing to begin with.

He didnt even break that rule.
Saying "hong kong citizens deserve human rights" doesnt bring anyone into public disrepute, offends anyone or damages blizzards image. Blizzard is damaging their own imagine. And by taking away his prize money Blizzard has broken the law.

The whole rule had the line "at Blizzard's descretion" on it so no matter if it was related to China or HK or not it was a hot button issue and Blizz likes to jump the gun at shooting those down.

Its a legal contract, not a gamefaqs moderation. Blizzard has no legal or moral ground to stand on.

It brings Blizzard into public disrepute in China, which is probably a bigger market for them than the entire west anyway

let's remember that China has 4 times as many people as America
