I think it's funny how most people bashing him have no idea/don't care the context in which he said it.
There is no scenario where it is acceptable for him to use that word.
You ever seen the topics asking if it's okay to say the n bomb while rapping along to a song and the majority says it's cool because in that context it's harmless. But then other times the context doesn't matter one bit, even when it's still completely harmless.
It's a weird one.
I haven't gone into those topics, but I don't think it's ok to use the term in that context either. In fact, I'd prefer for the artists to stop using the word entirely.
