I remember seeing The Dark Knight in theaters. That was such an incredible experience, everyone in that packed theater was so fucking into the movie and everyone literally gave a standing ovation at the end which was ridiculous but it was so fucking fun.
First Avengers movie was kinda like that too.
It was only a good experience because it was a newly renovated theater with large gaps between seats in groups of two, elevated rows with a full barrier between rows (so if the people in front and below you were using a phone, you can't see the light), and nobody nearby talking loudly enough to disrupt the movie.
