Faces no longer look like blurry oil paintings, environments aren't an over sharpened mess, background text is actually legible again. All of the shitty processing the S7 introduced is gone.

It still needs the megapickles to compete with the S6 in daytime landscape, but this thing is usable again. I still prefer the S6/iphone approach to night shots, though. They may have a little less detail and slightly more noise, but they're infinitely more color accurate and the scene actually looks like what I remember it looking like. I don't need to have my nightlife captured from the perspective of a fucking cat. This stupid aperture, large+low pixel count bs almost put HTC out of business.

Now if snapchat plays nice with this phone's screen ratio I might buy it.

This life is just a game we play, that we can never win.
But don't give up, no don't give up.
Megapickles matter.
Megapickles forever.
I use Google... A lot.... >______>
Megapickles should have been the subject of a Rugrats episode. It would have gone nicely with the Championchip episode.
So is it good enough to dethrone the S6 Camera

Because holy crap what a camera

Overall, imo, still no. I value the 16:9, all the pickles, and more natural night shots. But for people that don't, there's an argument that can be made. This is now 95% as good as the pixel, but with faster focus and no horrible lens flares.

You haven't set a signature for the message boards yet. Might wanna get on that, yeah?

smh

A good camera doesn't save the S8 from it's shit design

They were so determined to remove the bezels and home button they didn't consider the ergonomics

And they're back to using glossy metal, eww

For the record I loved my S7 Edge and Note 7, but the rubbish software/no method for rooting eventually brought me back to iOS

boi

I'm not sold at all on the 18.5:9 aspect, the fingerprint placement really sucks for the S8+, and I'm still not completely on board with the edges. So agreed.

But the iphone+ models might have the least consideration put towards ergonomics of any phone. The software still thinks it's in a 4 inch body and it's a giant phone with an average sized screen. The S7E was trash to handle too because it had no noticeable palm rejection.
