There has been precisely one worthwhile Jurassic Park movie, and even that wasn't as good as the book.in addition, it's not even Spielberg's best summer blockbuster monster movie. Jaws was better

I'll always love Jaws, because it's basically inspired by real events that took place right near my home town as a kid:You live in a creepy town

Same reason why I always get a bit more of a kick out of the Friday the 13th movies - they're basically set where I used to go on summer vacations. I've been in the diner from the first movie (it was in Blairstown). And my dad went to the Boy Scout camp they used for Camp Crystal Lake when he was a kid (as a side note, there IS a Crystal Lake in New Jersey, but it's not actually near the Boy Scout camp at all - the "lake" in the movie is actually called Sand Pond).
I also have a bit of a soft spot for Coyote Ugly, because parts of it were filmed one town over from me, and we saw John Goodman having lunch with Robert DeNiro a couple times in a local restaurant while they were filming.

It's not the town, it's the state.yknow, a lot of pop punk bands come from Jersey right? Just saying, youre living on hallowed ground
This exists for a reason!

Yo, this dude played in two of my favorite bands ever, Catch 22 and Streetlight Manifesto. That is awesome! Also Jen0125 is a huge fan also.Ha! I saw streetlight Manifesto live!
Though the funny thing, for me, is that my "favorite bands ever" means three albums between the two, and one was just a re-recording of a previous album to get out of their record deal contract early(though I love the re-recorded version of Catch 22's Keasby Nights so I'm not complaining).
I went to school with some of the members of The Youth Ahead:Im jealous of ur punk connections

I knew people in a few other bands, but I don't think any of them ever really made it out of the NJ scene where people would know about them (like Social Butterfly, who are mentioned in that wiki entry I posted above).
I also think I mentioned this before in one of your topics, but my roommate in college (the one I mentioned was into hardcore, skate punk, and ska, among other things) knew someone from a band (I think it was Orange 9mm), and they almost hung out at our place when they were on tour at one point, but cancelled last minute.
I also went to school with Vitamin C, though she was a bit before my time (my cousin knew her, though). Though she's outside of your usual sphere of interest (but closer to mine).
There's a fair few famous people who came out of my area. Athletes, actors, musicians, and others.
