woulda loved them to do this with trigun, retaining the same voice actors and just a cleaned up animation style. instead we got whatever the fuck that new trigun series is. there is a CHANCE i would have liked the new trigun if they didn't delete milly and replace her with fucking robert de niroYeah that was odd choice. The character isn't even bad exactly, but like, why?
Labyrinth of Touhou 2I've been meaning to try this eventually. Touhou got some good fan games out there. I think pocket wars is my favorite of them that I have played.

There's a demo for the Super Robot Wars touhou game out recently!Seems like there won't be any skirmish/free maps to grind on which is kind of annoying, not that I actually use em all that much but they take off a lot of stress. The last SRW game I played I didn't even finish because it got kinda boring. Maybe I'll check this out if theres good reviews.
first half of og, second half of brotherhood, halfway point is marked by when you know what happens even though it's not halfway

i had to rename it.
Finished DanDaDan S2 not too long ago... goddamn so I love this showYeah it's pretty great. It has a bunch of tropes I don't like and yet I still like the show a lot which must mean it's amazing for the people that do like those tropes.
It's rough for me to go back and play a base pokemon game. Fangames like rejuvination and pokemon empyrean have spoiled me on what pokemon with proper challenge and a story that doesn't feel like a saturday morning cartoon can be.
Speaking of pokemon, I've managed to get pokemon za running on my pc pretty well so I'll probably play that. It is hugely disappointing though that there are zero new pokemon and zero regional forms. A bunch of new megas sure, but like, wheres my sneasler equivalent, my hisuian liligant. New pokemon is the best part of a new pokemon game. Also sad no gen 9 pokemon, I want a mega meowscarada.
flcl is still peak
I feel like they generally don't add new Pokemon mid-generation, just new forms. Granted, I guess the last Legends one did from what I heard, so... idk anymore. The franchise kinda got wonky later on. I really stopped with Gen 7 (since although I picked up Shield, I only played it for like an hour or two)The only precedent for a legends game added 21 new forms and 7 new species of pokemon including some of my favorite. This one adds about that many mega evolution but a mega isn't as good as a whole new pokemon IMO. Also they've been adding new forms and new pokemon in the DLC in both 8th and 9th gen. This is the first new pokemon thing that hasn't added a new pokemon in a while I think.
Random thought - we should be on like Lupin the Fifth or Sixth at this point
Trade evos gotta be the shittiest mechanic they've ever come up with. Even slightly worse than version exclusives.
I'm annoyed that Disney and marvel have invaded the Webtoon app. It's increased ads and will probably get worse.
Thoughts?
can't you local trade for the evos though?I mean, I could download the LDN version, assuming it works with ZA, and then run both at the same time on low settings and trade with myself I guess, but thats a bit of a hassle since I also can't finish the dex because they haven't released 3 of the legendaries in the game. Also not sure if having an identical profile will cause issues.
The only kinda weird thing (but maybe not that weird) is that most of the gba-based ones seem to be built on FR. Before starting Radical Red, I'd kinda wanted to try out a fan version of RSE, but I didn't see anything, so I was just going to play Emerald (and kinda half-considered digging through my stuff for the 2-3 copies of Emerald I own for the actual gba... although I think one is still shrink-wrapped (I'd picked all of them up on clearance at either Circuit City or BBuy, iirc), so I probably wouldn't touch that one, although I'm not sure I'd ever sell it)I know emerald kaizo and run & bun are emerald based romhacks that are really popular, although generally in the nuzlocke community.
I also stand by some of the fan games being the same quality as the official games if not better (although many fan games are worse). Empyrean and rejuvination are the gold standards for me thus far. Insurgence is kinda edgy but also really well balanced and challenging. Also has some sick new megas like mega typhlosion.
I was reminded of the custom robo "I'm not going" alternate ending and just rewatched it and it kinda makes me want to replay the game. Been ages since I beat it. I wonder if it'd hold up. That ending was still one of the funniest things I can think of from a video game.
When I first encountered terrain, I thought it was just weather and was confused when it didn't vanish when I brought in a sand streamer to remove it. Likewise, I hadn't realized that Grassy Glide (from gen 9?) was a priority move, I thought the grassy terrain was just giving some Pokemon a speed boost via an ability.Grassy glide is gen 8. In gen 9 they nerfed it heavily from 70 BP to 60 then further to 55 while keeping the +1 priority if grassy terrain is up. All terrains also give a 30% damage boost (down from 50% in gen 7 and earlier) to moves of that type so grassy glide was effectively a 91 BP priority move when grassy terrain was up. Combined with rillaboom having grassy surge and great stats, it was a bit much.
