What are POTDs firearms of choice?

Ive got an HK 416 -22LR and a Baretta A400 Extreme.

My shotgun has great recoil reduction, but I still much prefer shooting my HK since you effectively feel NO recoil especially compared to my old Ruger Mk4 (which I sold because I really just do not like handguns)

IIRC you both live in countries that restrict your right to own a firearm, so that's not surprising.

I've got a Nerf M41A Pulse Rifle its a ten millimeter with over-and-under thirty millimeter pump action grenade launcher.

For daily carry it is usually either a BG2.0 or 632UC.

I have no need for a firearm. Which is just as well, as I cant own one legally here.

same. also to note i have a lingering trauma in what i had to witness april 7th on the anniversary. the day my uncle took his life when he went crazy from meth. he thought there was listening devices in the upstairs apartment. luckily nothing worse happened to me on that night because it could've gone differently.

Right? I outgrew sharpening sticks and sticking sharp things on the ends of plunger handles when I was eight. Guns are just a furtherance of the same kind of thing. Besides, if you're ever in the kind of situation where you'd be justified in using a gun to defend yourself, odds are you're already in someone else's sites and reaching for it would just get your skull perforated before you could even reach the trigger, let alone aim the thing. Guns are worthless for self defense, only good for offense or defending others when the assailant isn't paying attention to you.

Besides, if you really do need to do some damage, potential improvised weapons are everywhere.

I mean, I can understand coming to a topic about guns to make jokes about guns. Topic ended up a lot more humorous that I thought it would be, and that's nice.

I don't understand coming to a topic about guns to talk about how much you don't like guns.

I'm not going to engage or debate on the politics of gun ownership or the right to bear arms. Youre welcome to have that discussion of course, but I have no intention of being involved, so maybe you could do it elsewhere since its really not at all the intent of this topic.
I think it's an important point to consider when so much harm comes from treating guns like social status tokens or toys and not taking proper care of them. I'm not against gun ownership as a whole, but the fewer people owning guns that have no practical use for them, the fewer opportunities there are for carelessness to turn tragic.

If you feel you need to own a gun, fine, I'm not going to stand in the way of that or advocate for anyone else to, but for the love of the mothers of so many children lost to gun violence, take it seriously! It's not a toy, it's fucking dangerous as hell, and even if you know you won't abuse it, if you don't secure it properly there's no telling who might get their hands on it and when, and who's going to end up dead because of it!

Just practice proper common sense care for your firearm(s), that's all I ask.

For many people on both sides of the argument, the right to have access to firearms (or not) is an issue that they feel strongly about. If the topic comes up, its not crazy to expect them to voice those feelings.

Not that long ago, injecting a political discussion into a topic that is only tangentially related would surely have been considered annoying, if not crazy, but the times they do be changing.

Like I said, I'm certainly not going to stop anyone from talking about it but its not as though you are going to change anyones mind and I'm also not going to engage with it since it is off topic.

Its like if someone asked "Whats your favorite soup?" Only to have half a dozen people chime in about how much they hate soup, and so nobody needs to or should eat soup and how your ingredients arent ethically sourced and blah blah blah

Like, homie, I just wanted to hear what types of soup people like.

Except people owning soup results in a lot less tragic but avoidable deaths. Thats a pretty important distinction.

But yes, I agree that nobody will be swayed one way or the other with a topic like this.

Are you sure about that? If the ingredients for your soup aren't ethically sourced then how would you have any idea how much death and suffering might be associated with it?

Lets debate about it.

Actually, lets not. That would be stupid and pointless, just like having a gun rights debate in this topic.

I can only imagine how annoying it must be for the ejection port on most guns to point at the side that you are firing from. Just getting a constant face-full of hot brass every time you pull the trigger has to suck big time.

It's got to be extra-super annoying for a bolt-action.

Didn't even consider that. Fuck that has to be miserable. Youd have to reach to the inside to pull the bolt every time and it would just spit it right at you.

The world is just not made for left handed people.
I fire left sometimes, because my right eye is crappy, but it doesn't matter much for a revolver.
If I ever get another handgun it will be a revolver.

I get really bad tremors in my right arm, which is my dominant arm, and it makes shooting anything with even moderate recoil a problem. Its why I love my HK. I feel so much more stable and in control when firing that thing. Don't have to reset and recenter after every shot like I do with most guns.

Maybe I should start shooting left, but I'm just afraid how much my aim would suffer. I'm finally getting decent at shooting trap and if I swap I'd be starting over. PLUS id be standing on the ejection side eating empty shells every time I pull the trigger.

you'll have to swap hands to reload, and the safety is probably going to be awkward, but that's about it.

Battery-powered chainsaws are AWESOME. Push button start, release the trigger and it turns off off, minimal noise, no carburetors, no spark plugs, no gas/oil mixture, no tuneups, no exhaust.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/d/d4ffeec0.jpg

And my battery pole saw was a total game changer. Officially it can reach 11 feet, but if you don't mind the increased risk, you can stick an extra extension in there to add another 3 feet (this is very dangerous, as it makes it difficult to control).

Probably my .45, for my favorite. Don't think it's ever jammed on me and I've run near a thousand rounds through it. The .22 is pretty fun. It's semi auto and has 10 round mags. It was also my cheapest gun. Was barely over $100 when I bought it. I always get sad when I think of how cheap .22lr ammo used to be. It's around 5x the cost per bullet these days.
