Yeah, that was my reasoning in picking one up now. I wouldn't have bought a system just for Mario Kart, and buying one just for DK was a stretch (though it's much closer to system-seller territory), but I know we'll be seeing more Xenoblade and Zelda in the future and those
are
system-sellers for me, plus an assortment of other games that have already been announced as exclusive and/or that I'd rather play on a console. Odds are, the system won't see a meaningful price drop by the time the library has grown more, so there's no real reason for me to wait.
I do, however, suspect that we might be seeing a price drop for Mario Kart. This is entirely speculation, but I think pricing it at $80 might have been a decision made to encourage people to pick up the limited-time bundle and get it for $50 instead, driving early system sales with that opportunity to save $30. It won't surprise me at all if, once they discontinue the bundle and that incentive no longer applies, they drop it down to $70 to drive further sales. But I guess we'll see.
