Will one fall hurt the Switch Lite??

I had no idea, I woke up and moved I heard 3 big bangs and then the system was on the carpeted floor, guess it had been bed side. Wasn't plugged in. Just curious what to look out for now and if signs would be immediate for damage or gradual. :c

Usually not like me, I usually put the system away before trying to rest.

The bang could have been the bunny knocking his water dish from the shelf in its cage.

However if I recall it might have landed on its front side when I saw it, and there is a rattle sound on the left or right side but my more newer Switch Lite has that same sound.

No, but one winter might.

Does it still work? If so it's probably fine.
Will you recognize me?
Call my name or walk on by?
If it still works, it's fine. If it doesn't, it isn't.

How would you know if the fans or something broke? I tried looking in with a flash light but couldn't see in it. However not sure if this is normal or always been like this but on the top left side of the top vent, the gate thing isn't lined up like the other ones are.

Just to confirm I asked my sister if shes dropped hers and she said a bunch of times and its fine she said.

I passed out and don't recall if I put it in sleep mode, since the end of April I've been stuck in a fight or flight mode or hyper arousal or whatever its called and my OCD and anxiety has gotten worse since I'm wide awake all the time and have chronic insomnia, with this OCD I've probably scared myself into this state.

Medications haven't really ever been beneficial either, and probably unable to since I don't sleep I wake up with panic attacks then wide awake shortly after sleep. I know this is a lot but thought about making a topic at some point regarding this as Idk if anyone here has experienced this sort of nightmare.

Want relief.

If you hear them running and the system doesn't end up obviously overheating (like shutting itself off, not just feeling warm), they're fine. If you don't and/or it does, they broke.

There's a non-zero chance that the fall may have jiggled a fan or something such that it'll wear out a bit faster, but there's no way to identify that now and you won't be able to do anything to fix it anyway. All you can really do is keep using it normally. If it fails, get it repaired. If it doesn't fail, don't. You have nothing to gain from worrying about that potential future now.

@adjil

Well, twice my Switch Lite has had the same error code 2701-0001 where it shut off in sleep mode while plugged in and recently too the second time. Was told on Reddit by a user that it's likely a hiccup with the wi-fi because they have something similar going on. Happened with regular Switch as well but that had gotten a charge, then was on wi-fi in its case. So I make sure to put airplane mode on now or shut them off.

Think the 2nd time was the 25th I had it plugged in and at 2 in the morning it happened, Went to use it around 10 AM and 'thought' it felt hot but it was a hot day so could have imagined it and it was powered off that second time with the same error code. I was told there was no way by another Reddit user that it could remain hot all that time while being powered off from the error code shut down while in sleep mode.

When you look up that error code it's not in Nintendo's data and AI gives different results every time, do you think like that first user said that it's the wi-fi thing? The first time it happened early last month we did get a new router shortly before. Makes me worried about plugging it in now.

it feeling hot is normal, because that's just what happens, it generates heat and the entire housing is used as a sort of auxiliary heatsink because it's so thin

as for it doing that while it's errored out, that's normal too since the device is going to be actually "on" despite being in the middle of an error. if it's plugged in, it will also get hot since that's just how batteries work

unless it actively shuts off due to overheating which it'll tell you, then it's fine

I'm not sure what the reason is for the shut down because when I turn it back on its just in the error code list the 2701-0001 which has no records besides a bunch of different AI results. I'm not present when it happens to see. If I turn it back on would it state over heating? If so it hasn't.

Do you think its wi-fi like the other user mentioned? How can I prevent this? Just not leaving it plugged in? What if it happens from a short time plugged in?

yes.

though to be fair, the switch will shutdown when it reaches about 69c, which is 156f

the tegra x1, which the switch uses, has a max thermal limit of 105c (221f), so even if it does overheat, it's not that big of a deal and isn't going to damage anything since nintendo is extremely conservative with their protections

@ConfusedTorchic

What about when its shut down from the error code and left on charge and feeling hot then that won't damage it either?

And yes to the over heating message as well as this likely being a wi-fi issue like that other user mentioned? I doubt the outlets themselves would cause this? Would you as well? Just need peace of mind been through too much.

Have been trying to avoid looking things up and posting as much asking these things but extra nerved up due to waking up last night with the Switch Lite on the floor and I've never been like that I'm too cautious, but I've lost tremendous sleep for so long and been in a state of fight of flight, like wide awake state for just as long where I'm just too nerved up. Hope it was normal I passed out like that. My mom said it is from being so tired.

Happened again, had it charging with wi-fi on in sleep mode, came back and it was fully powered off. Looked at error code history had the 2701-0001 code like every other time. This don't cause permanent damage does it? If so can just move on.
