Y'all getting anything, or have any good deals to recommend?

Tentatively I've got these in my cart:

Borderlands 3 $2.99
Jurassic Worlds Evolution 2 $2.99
Noita $7.99
Tomb Raider trilogy $10.60

I'm also considering Core Keeper, but it's $13.99. Thinking of giving myself a modest budget of $50 for the sale, but won't necessarily spend that much. None of the other games in the deep discount highlight are big wants, so I'll skip them most likely.

Astlibra's only 25% off but I think it holds the distinction of being the only game I've 100%'d achievements for twice , with the second time being on the hardest difficulty. DLC too, which is its own condensed campaign. Actually I've done the DLC three times lol. The story's kind of ambitious nonsense written over the course of over a decade (including one chapter written when he must have been pretty horny), but the gameplay's FIRE

A few recommendations:

Across the Obelisk - $9.99
Astronarch - $4.49
Cat God Ranch+DLC - $7.10
Endgame of Devil - $4.19
The Last Flame - $11.99
Monsters' Den: Godfall - $5.99
Slice & Dice - $8.99

The tomb raider reboot trilogy is fantastic imo, great choice.

Im looking into buying stolen realm. Apparently it's similar to the bauldars gate, divinity original sin 1/2, etc. It's 8 bucks and has coop. Seems pretty fun to me.

Valve gets a cut of every card sold in the marketplace, regardless of how they were distributed. Handing out fewer cards isn't a matter of "getting greedy," it's a matter of free card distribution not doing enough to drive sales to be worth handing them out.

Besiege has been on my wishlist for over a decade, so I'll probably pick it up while it's $1.49 just to end the arc. Some other stuff on my list has decent discounts, but I have enough of a backlog at the moment that I don't plan on grabbing anything else.
And with that... pow! I'm gone!

If they hand out fewer cards, they make less money. Framing that as "greed" is pretty silly.

It's always greed related when people defend companies doing a shitty thing for no reason.

How is making less money a matter of "greed"? Are you just using words without understanding what they mean?

There's no reason to defend the change therefore you want to support greed.

Added a few of the games on here to my wishlist, thanks.

For Cyberpunk, I've actually been waiting for a few weeks for it to go on sale on the Xbox store, since I feel like my series x will run it better than my pc.

This conversation might work better if you share the definition you're using for "greed" so it can be corrected.

https://steamdb.info/app/1145360/

The first one gets discounted by 60-66% a few times a year, and is currently tied for its lowest historical price.

https://steamdb.info/app/1145350/

The second occasionally gets discounted by 10%, but isn't out of Early Access yet and therefore I wouldn't expect to see more than that until several months after the full release.

I grabbed the second, fourth, and fifth Trails games. That alone ought to last me.

Currently playing 2023 acquisition Fallout 4, next in line is Ace Attorney Investigations Collection that I got on the tail end of 2024. There are a few more I got between those two, when I got my new PC in 2023 and could finally get at some games the previous one could not run. Gaming speed is down a lot, so it's all taking a little longer than I perhaps expected then.

Nothing bought yet in 2025 and will let this sale go by. Maybe Thanksgiving, depending on where I stand then. No use buying if it just has to take a number and get in line.

I'm considering getting some DLC for Planet Zoo or Crusaders Kings 3 but I don't play enough on my PC, so I'm not sure. Any good strategy or CRPGs that came out recently I should look at?

Rogue Trader is a great game. I'd say it's only problem is that it's really easy to break with alpha strikes but some self-restraint or taking advantage of the game's generous difficulty options could fix that.

I wish Wrath and Kingmaker had RT's thoughtful encounter design instead of endless trash mob fights.
So I was standing still at a stationary store...
Today, I finally decided to reap the benefits of the sale, before it's too late. Gotta get some stuff before I get a Steam Deck or Lenovo Legion Go.

I got:
  • Dead or Alive 6
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Wavetale

I can't speak to the quality of Rogue Trader, but it did just show up as part of July's Humble Choice, if anyone's interested in it and would like to take advantage of that discount (though I'd advise waiting until later in the month to subscribe because they usually reduce the cost as the month goes on).

Reverie? I'm working very slowly towards it.

I'm... also less than thrilled about the Sky 1 remake. It looks nice, but the voice lines they gave us sounded like the quality you'd expect of late 90s video games, the quotes sounded so tame and underwhelming I doubted anyone new to the game or series would care, and nothing was said about what the game was even about, which again does sod-all to drawn in new fans. So I'm just going to stick to enjoying the original Sky 1, for all the good and bad it has going for it.

Oh yeah, I picked up a few metroidvania games that I had forgotten about but were sitting on my Follow list for a long while.

Crypt Custodian
Ender Lilies
Ender Magnolia

My Follow list still has a bunch of "to be announced" games, and one released game that wasn't on sale. We'll see how things go, I guess.

I got all of the following:

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R
Dolls Nest

Fallen Aces
Soulstone Survivors
Resident Evil Revelations 2
Sable
Kaze and the Wild Masks
Ex-Zodiac
Vomitoreum
It Comes In Waves
Chants of Sennaar
Decline's Drops
Labyrinth Of The Demon King
Only two games on my wishlist are actually available, but they're relatively new so they don't have much of a discount.

Locomoto: Customize and manage your train, tend to quirky passengers, gather resources, craft decorations, and upgrade your conductors style all accompanied by soft lo-fi tunes. Become a conductor and save your hometown Barrenpyre from environmental disaster! 33% off, $16.74

Cinnabunny: A cozy life simulator game where you play as a bunny who runs a bakery. Unlock new recipes, go birdwatching, collect mushrooms, and charm your community. Save up enough carrots to help your family move. 20% off, $19.99
Minutus cantorum, minutus balorum,
Minutus carborata descendum pantorum.
Just got three more games before the sale ends.

He may have been worried about coming across as saying "they don't look like they're worth much, what's the least I can pay for them?", which could be called "mean." Personally, I'm kind of at a point where if I don't think a game is going to be worthwhile without a deep discount, I just stop paying attention to the game because I've got plenty of games in my backlog that are worth playing regardless of the discount (though I did impulse buy Spiritfarer when it was 90% off back in March, but it hadn't previously been on my radar), but there's some wiggle room in that philosophy and the value of a dollar varies from person to person.
