I played through the demo, and the combat didn't feel like it started to get engaging to me until the boss where the demo ends. I feel the demo needed to be slightly longer.

I agree, the demo is too short; I liked it nonetheless. I'll probably wait for a sale before getting the full game though.

I would have considered getting it now that it's coming to Steam, but it's coming packed with Denuvo. And it's not important enough to me to deal with that.

Demo was a bit too short, but mostly served it's purpose.
I'll buy the game eventually. Just not right now

Stellar Blade is the gaming equivalent of eating potato chips for dinner. It's good but unsubstantial and not very memorable.

Most comparisons I've seen put it closer to something like Nier Automata than what most would consider in saying "soulslike," hewing closer to a character action game than the slower, more methodical and punishing pace of most soulslikes. But I also haven't paid close enough attention to really comment on that.

there is zero soulslike about it.

It's a pretty standard action game. It does not blaze any new trails.

For a long time I've been staunchly apposed to it, but had to submit for a couple games. RE4 Remake and Persona 4 Golden have it and Capcom and Sega will never remove it. But Denuvo is still a strong factor in whether or not I purchase a game because every single game I've played with it has caused issues.

RE4 had major loss of performance at certain points. Persona had loss of performance (on a PS2 game!) and a replicable crash that soft locks the game (although this may be due to AMD drivers, dxvk solved this). Before I knew what Denuvo was, Borderlands 3 would consistantly crash to desktop, until they removed it and it magically solved the problem. Phantasy Star Online 2 wouldn't even launch.

And it's not even like Denuvo is the only DRM with issues. Easy Anti Cheat is cancer, too and you can actively see major performance increases when you disable it.

Denuvo themselves have also admitted that they leave files behind when uninstalling games with Denuvo on it.

Makes sense, basement dwellers that have never seen a nipple often draw them upside down on those models.

It's a fun game, but people act like it's a great game and it's not. I enjoyed my time with it, but there is no way this game leaves any mark beyond having a very hot protagonist and a pretty damn fun combat system.

It feels like the game only blew up, because some gamers hate the supposed woke games and this is not that. If this game would have come out 20 years ago with what was pretty good graphics at the time it would have likely gotten way less attention.

I've been playing the full version for a bit, in the "wasteland" area now. The environments all feel kinda samey, but the combat is fun. the engineer lady i picked up feels out of place with how cheerful and childish she is.
