I don't think it should be hidden. Even if most people knew the bare minimum they could do to rank up or rank down, they would still need to devote a lot of time into playing well :)

I agree. When you play a competitive game, the whole idea is to find people of equal skill. Of course, there's the whole debate about whether or not some of these games intentionally feed you super easy or impossible matches sometimes for the sake of maintaining a 50/50 record.

No SBMM just means you're cool with just fishing for a good team to carry you or waiting for a horrible team that you can stomp on. That's boring to me, at least

Of course they could just bring back lobbies.
This would revive clans as a concept.
Which revives community.
Which then creates competition and match making

I don't think any game with skill based matchmaking is worth mental cycles.
THE opinionated king.
I don't think they implement it to provide even or competitive playing fields. There's just too many factors to say these theoretically equal players are going to have a competitive match. You take away having a "less skilled" player having a play style that has a "higher skilled" players number that makes matches feel more organic and unique and less a turn based win screen.

The only real way I can see matchmaking working as that is intended is taking your skill balanced players, throwing ping out the window and and compensating blowouts through live stat manipulation and handicapping so your target player gets a narrow win and hopefully buys some stuff at the store.
