I come to gamefaqs to discuss games not meaningless politics

We do not speak of that anymore. This board has been sanitized so that people of all political ideologies no matter how extreme or zany can come together to discuss video games.
But be careful when discussing the politics of a game, otherwise you might get in trouble.

Life's what you make it, so let's make it rock
I'm surprised no one has ever taken your username until 2023.

I genuinely don't know why people would choose a video game forum of all places to discuss that in the first place. It's like if I registered on an auto hobby forum and started going on about my picks for the Superbowl. I guess there are social boards like this one but good god, I come here to discuss my hobbies and interests, not to remind myself of the anxieties of the world. Learn to give it a rest. Better yet, actually go attend your town halls and get directly involved in movements if you really do care.

Sadly it is ruined by underscores

There was a sizable purge of inactive accounts a few years back that freed up a number of names. Given the lack of new users coming in, the relatively low number of existing users, and the relatively low drive for those existing users to drop their current names in favour of grabbing one that they wished they could have had in GameFAQs' heyday, there hasn't exactly been a ton of competition for even "high-demand" names.

The nature of social boards is mostly "discuss whatever's on your mind." If whatever "politics" means is what's on people's minds, then that's what they'll discuss.
This is my signature. It exists to keep people from skipping the last line of my posts.

We should start discussing video games right now. What's your top 10 list?

Yeah, as much as I love how political conversation here is toned down (it still very much exists and left unmoderrated if it falls into "acceptable speech"), this is a social board. Video game conversation is minor in comparison, even on a website devoted to video game conversation.
Notably, there are dedicated boards to discuss specific games, so it's not like game discussion is being choked out by anything that happens on social boards. Discussing games on social boards is still its own, distinct experience because there's no expectation to relate the discussion back to the game or system whose board you're on, but either way there's no shortage of opportunities to discuss games.

Well I don't want to get off topic on the thread here you know?

But Katamari Damacy is pretty high on the list.

That's fair, I just don't see what really gets accomplished in doing so. People can take real world action to shape things if they want to become involved. That energy is way better spent in the company of other politically minded activists than yelling into the void online.

Which I understand is sort of what I'm doing now too.
You're not allowed to discuss societal happenings in this sub-sect of society, especially societal things that directly impact the medium which we are supposed to discuss.

No videogame has ever been politically motivated or inspired after all, just look at MGS, a game franchise famous for not being remotely political!
