With Forza releasing on PS5 and Gears of War making the leap to Playstation later this year, can Halo be far behind? Once that happens, what becomes of Xbox?

I could see them taking one more swing at the console market but I imagine their next attempt at an Xbox will further blur the line between PC and console, allowing for (officially supported) Steam integration as Microsoft shifts towards more of a publishing role than that of a console maker, abandoning "first party" in favor of seeking revenue from as many channels as possible (Steam, Nintendo, and Playstation)

Maybe. Don't most people just do the PC Gamepass now instead?
Gamertag: Kegfarms, BF code: 2033480226, Treasure Cruise code 318,374,355, Steam: Kegfarms, Switch: SW-1900-5502-7912
I think at least some of the cross platform stuff came out of the concessions they made to regulators when they purchased Activision.
Last rumor I heard, is that their next "console" was basically going to be a tv ready streamlined pc and have gamepass, steam, and probably other stores available on it.

In the style of SteamDeck and other handheld PCs. Just running a version of Windows rather than Linux.

[ ] More than likely, but there is probably one more left in them
[ ] I certainly hope not for the industry's sake
[x] All of the above

They have been slowly pushing to that for a while. They realized they make way more money licensing their games to other systems and selling game pass subscriptions.

The recent $80 - $100 price increases on the consoles only solidifies it.
I feel like I need to put something here, or else I am one of those weird people who think that having no signature is a character trait.
