i would say anything that isn't a direct sequel is a good place

personally i'd say start with witch from mercury, 00, ibo, or seed

but you really can't go wrong much either way, you're gonna likely be confused about some things, which is fine, since they don't tend to explain shit regardless

yeah if you are okay with old stuff (still good) watch the original run ( honestly you can watch the compilation movies)
or if you want a modern starting point watch iron blooded orphans

GWitch is better than Seed and I hate GWitch.
Seed is basically symbolic of why early 2000s shounen is so bad.
GWitch is basically why 2020s fanservice is mainly bad.

I haven't seen the new series but I started with 00 and it was pretty accessible. 00 still seems to have some of the most popular kits. Orphans was okay.

you can watch the original gundam movies instead of the original TV series if you want a more condensed version of events

Id recommend Gundam Wing because it was my favorite, but that might have been nostalgia from it being on after DBZ during the Toonami days

Most Gundam fans say its different than a lot of the other series though

wing was aight and heero being an antisocial edgelord was pretty funny

peak gundam for me was char's counterattack, gundam x, and unironically gundam build fighters. its premise leads it to sound like a shit cash grab, but it's actually really cool. ricardo da best

i would like the build fighters stuff more if the actual kit translated into being able to do that.

as it is, unless you fabricate adapters and pieces, you likely aren't going to be able to mix and match different kits together unless they're in the same series.

like seed stuff isn't going to be able to have any 00 stuff on it, for example, because of fundamental differences in how the pieces (arms, legs, backpacks, chests) connect. heads you could probably do, they're usually just a ball joint socket
