i spent an hour waiting earlier and noone got called up, then they said to everyone there "hey you all know we're having computer problems and we're leaving at closing time right"

i had ticket number 71 and someone next to me had 15. she had been there waiting since yesterday. what the hell man. i just gotta renew in person because they told me to

bonus points, our branch has no options for making an appointment online and they also set the phones to silent. they are physically unreachable without going in person

Try a different branch, if you can? Where I live some of the rural DMV locations are pretty much walk in, walk out. They're only open a limited number of days per week, but they serve counties with like 25,000 people.
Minutus cantorum, minutus balorum,
Minutus carborata descendum pantorum.
went in at 8:05. 15 people in line. :(

at least it's finally over, took two and a half hours. they started to have computer problems again partway through but figured out how to turn the computer off and back on again. man they oughta let standard renewals jump to the front of the line, most of the time was spent on like 2-3 people

I'm already pretty rural and this one is 20 minutes away. Next nearest is probably an hour and is in a much more populated area.

Yeah I learned a few years back rural is the way to go. Even if I have to drive an hour and a half away it's worth it. Got my license renewed one year while in the mountains on vacation. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Had to go to the DMV where I live a few months back and it was a line a mile long out the door. Never again. I'll always just drive to some remote one from now on

This is how I originally had to take my driving road test

I found that out years ago when I was applying for a postal job. I needed an official driving record printout and the local office was three people sitting around playing solitare. I may have been the only person to walk in all day.
