They're adding rideable Ghasts to Minecraft

Pretty cool. You can dismount them and stand on top of them to make building high up easier. They look pretty slow though. Only other feature revealed from the next update is the locator bar which overlays the exp bar and show you where other players in the world are. Kind of like a simple compass.

Maybe one day they'll add something intresting to the game.

Idk I think theyre cool. 1.21.5 is out. Added a bunch of new plants and mob variants. I flew around for like an hour, generated a ton of new chunks. Only new mobs I managed to find were warm and cool pig variants. Got the warm pigs back home safely. Cool pigs suffocated inside of a dark oak tree like a minute away from my base. x_x

Also baby Ghasts and dried-up Ghast carcasses.

minecraft really needs more flying mobs. parrots are pretty useless, bats are stupid and an afterthought since they have not changed in the slightest since they were added, phantoms are garbage

but bees? bees are fucking excellent. just little flying guys that bumble around. they're adorable. we need more passive flying mobs that actually just fly around

in the same vein that they really need to just let us set a boundary for dogs and cats so they can just roam around instead of sit somewhere forever and get forgotten, since actually going anywhere with them sucks and will probably kill them

There are currently 3 obtainable event capes for both Bedrock and Java. A blue one with a nether portal. A red one with a portal to the overworld. And a white one with a mine entrance. All 3 have Jack Black as the Elytra pattern. The blue one is from watching 3 minutes of a minecraft stream on Twitch. The red one from watching a 3 minutes of a minecraft stream on TikTok. And the white one from an event server in Bedrock. Be warned. The event server is grindy. Its not like the first two event servers from last year where you can roll in on the last day and get it all done in 20 minutes. You need to work for this. Currently 3 of 6 quests are up. Heres my advice. Run around the city and pick up all the emeralds you see. Next go to the wall mini game and do the same. Next go to the wilderness and do the same while moving the cart. Stay here for a while to rack up free emeralds. Just stick with the cart for now, shoot mobs as they spawn while the high level players kill the large waves. Do this until you get several thousand emerald or complete quest 3. Go upgrade your armor and pickaxe as much as you can. Its time to go mining. Just run around and mine everything you see. Kill what you can but be wary. If you die before returning to the entrance you lose everything. Just do this over and over the rack up tons of emeralds. For like an hour or two. Go back to the city and buy as many upgrades for your sword and bow as you can. I think its like 30k-40k to upgrade everything all the way not completely sure. You dont need full upgrades, just however many you feel like getting. Go back and do quests 1 and 2 now. Be warned for quest 2 you have to get the killing blow on the Ghasts for it to count. Assists do not count here. So a lot of bow upgrades are a must for this quest. And yeah thats all there is to it really. The earlier you get upgrades in this server, the easier it will be to complete the next 3 quests. Which unlock tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday. Event ends on I believe April 7th

The final quest is out, the Yearn cape is now fully obtainable.

They extended the event server to several more days so you still have time to earn the cape if you havent and want it.
Also I did find all the new mob variants and brought them home safely. Gonna built a cactus flower farm and a Ghast farm, so I can craft dried Ghasts when the next update comes.

i don't think i've played since they added jungle stuff. feel like i'd ignore 90% of anything new if i did. more mobs is neat though, unless it's more annoying shit.

been kinda wanting to pick up the game again but eh.

So I lied. I actually didnt build any farms today. I decided to fix up my base, fix/remove things that bothered me, moved some things around, just prettied it up a bit.

Ive been waiting for a new PotD server to materialize. I cant really host one.

This is yet another clumsy and awkward solution to an existing problem. We've needed a way to hover in air for building purposes forever, but this looks way too cumbersome and ridiculous to be of any real use. Ghasts are way too massive and slow and I'm sure the method of capturing and taming one is going to be a convoluted chore like every other new mob they've added. We could have had an enchantment or potion effect that would serve the same function and be way simpler. An enchantment only found on books in rare treasure chests that consumes XP to function so as not to be overpowered, or a potion effect using Shulker Shells to brew, also being moderately difficult to farm and giving more of a use for them. Would be a way better solution than this novelty mob.

But judging by our last quarterly update that added nothing but literal trash items and texture swaps on mobs, Mojang hasn't been doing much of anything in a while. Too busy focused on shilling their new film.

Bees are great. They're cute, pose a mild risk that can easily be averted with a simple setup and provide an actual useful resource. Even more useful with the introduction of copper. They're also easy to farm.

why are there still no regular bears

we got new variants of pigs and chickens and cows, but still just polar bears
