No, although I visit once or twice a week, and my mum tends to call me once or twice a week.

Yes and no. I live with my old man but don't have anything todo with the person who gave birth to me. I don't even know if she's alive.

My mom calls almost every day, usually about nothing but I think she's just bored.

My dad and I talk about once per month or so, which is nice because it gives enough time for interesting things to come up.

I pretty much never actually 'call' my mom, but I generally email and or text her every day and normally we do lunch every weekend.

My dad has been dead for a LONG time now.
I live with them. When I don't I would prefer not to. I am 33.

I visit my mother every weekend and help out with jobs in the house and garden.
We also e-mail each other on Wednesdays (though often don't have anything to say).

I call my mom almost every day. She also lives only 2 hours away so I see her every few months.

My dad is an alcoholic piece of garbage who I call usually around once a month. He live on the other side of the USA though and I haven't seen him since 2022. Right now he is going through a second divorce and I imagine he is drinking a lot so I haven't talked to him in a few months.

Yeah, but it's misleading. It implies it is still possible to call them and I choose not to do so.

The correct answer is more "null" or "n/a" than "no".

Nope. My mom does live close by but due to past drama I'm not that close with her anymore. We still talk sometimes but it's often a gap of 3+ months between calls. I'm on fine terms with my dad but he lives hours away; we talk about every 1-2 months.

I only recently moved away and like my space at this time. My mom would text me all day if i did, so i don't.
I don't wanna regret my distance later on, but living with them was pretty darn demeaning even with their best intentions.
Hopefully space will bring us closer again after a while.

No. Mine are both dead now, but I had well over a decade of no contact with them before that happened.
I live with my parents.

I live with my mom, so I see her at least briefly every day.

I talk to dad a few times a year maybe.

So both yes and no apply.

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me
I live about 5 minutes from my parents, but see them typically weekly. We all have lives and aren't about to have time to stop by daily, but my daughter does start asking to see them if it goes more than 5 days or so.
Call once a month generally, visit once or twice a year. They live several states away. We do have a family chat where we talk and send memes with us, siblings, and spouses, and that we do every day. So we're in touch

My mom died about 4 years ago, and leading up to her death I visited her maybe once or twice a year. My dad I probably talk to once a month. Maybe more if some major event is happening. Like I went out and helped him move stuff around once a week when he was retiring.
I feel like I need to put something here, or else I am one of those weird people who think that having no signature is a character trait.
I don't regularly talk to my family at all. I have no idea where my dad is. My sister moved away to another state, I missed her wedding, my other sibling, who used to be my best friend, now has a blood oath sworn on hating me until the day we both die, and in general I just don't like being around it all, and get anxiety attacks just thinking about it, which I do just about every 10 minutes, and every time I wake up in the morning.

Thanks for the trauma dump.
Every time I see them they say they wish I came over more often and that I "never see them".
I haven't talked to my parents since May 2020.

Just a culmination of abuse by my mother that I couldn't abide by anymore. BLM did play into it but it was the straw that broke the camels back. It wasn't directly related to BLM as my mom is a huge leftist, but a conversation and aftermath of said conversation that made me walk away.
Meh, politics don't have to be involved if your parent is just a smug jackass. I have similar politics to my mother but my exasperation with her is more based in her general selfishness (does not ask how I'm doing, starts long rants about inconsequential drivel, talks shit about people undeservedly, won't apologize etc etc).

Yeah my mom and I are very politically aligned so it wasn't due to her politics but her actions.
no to either option, will be 49 in July

mom passed in 2001
dad passed in 2013

Not call but i usually text my mom every day. Sometimes call. My dad died of a drug overdose about a year ago but we had an obviously weird relationship all my life as he always struggled with alcohol/drugs and even tried to get me to do drugs with him. I do kinda regret that I didn't pick up the phone the last time he tried to call before he basically killed himself though
every time I call my mom she guilts me that I don't call her more often. then she goes on about extremely specific work related topics for an hour.
Most weeks, my mom and I get together to do some shopping errands, and we talk then. Last week she was away on a trip with the family after forgetting to invite me (something my older sister realized too late she shouldn't have given to our mom as a task). This week I've texted my mom about whether or not we're on for our usual get-together, but haven't heard from her.

I'm wondering if she left her phone over there, got into an accident, or my older sis called our mom out for pulling her usual shit with me and Mom's too sour over it like the petty bitch she can be. <_<

Sure, she's far better now than she was when my older sis and I were kids, but still. Honestly, she falls into the category of claiming she'll admit she's wrong (lol no), and then becoming belligerent once found out--only calming down and apologizing once the circumstances kick in. She's better now, by which I mean she pulls this type of nonsense at least twice or thrice a year as opposed to twenty to thirty whilst gaslighting her children about it. That sense of improvement is the only reason I bother talking to her these days. But if she wants to be sour and give me the silent treatment for calling her out for not inviting me to a family vacation like my sister had asked her to, then I'll just make plans in life that have nothing to do with her.

Nope, and the less I have to talk to them the better. Not for lack of them trying though LOL
Uh huh...

So my mom did get back to me about ten minutes after I made that post, or four hours after I originally texted her--usually an hour and a half after her typical bed time, even--and said yes to going out. This morning she texted me saying her husband was feeling unwell and she needed to stay home to take care of their dog. So I had to walk all over the western third of this city in multiple trips to run my few errands. There went almost half my day for a questionable excuse paired with oh-so-convenient timing.

If I ever had kids, I'd have to put in the extra effort to break this cycle and raise them better than their borderline X/Boomer grandma turned out; let me tell you. -.-

Maybe at that point I'd end up cutting her off entirely.

I call my parents every Saturday and shoot the breeze for about half an hour, depends on what's gone on during this past week.

Nope. I haven't seen my mom since I was 17. My step dad sadly passed away in the early 2000s. Haven't seen my dad since 2018, and believe me, it wasn't my choice to see him at all.
