Anybody read/reading Hajime no Ippo? I'm right around chapter 700, after the Mashiba vs Sawamura fight. Didn't see that ending coming.

Also looking forward to the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection coming this week; a collection of GB/GBA era games with new features and online play. I had to preorder it when I heard it would come with an exclusive real card; I never got to get any of the cards that came with the games originally since I got the games used.

I caught up years ago but it's been a long time. I think it was around 1000 chapters.

Finished up Echoes of Wisdom. Tempted to restart Xeno 3, but I think I'll hold off for now, since I've got a used copy of Smash Ultimate coming in the mail and I want to play that for a bit. Not sure how much Smash I'm going to play, but I certainly don't want it to distract me in the middle of my second attempt to play Xeno 3. Also, Xeno X comes out next month, so I might hold off even longer for my 3 retry.

Also fonts that will be visible on TVs less than 80 inches wide, but that was already apparent from previous videos.

Then you should still be able to see it because the font is no longer tiny. The UI scale was one of the most glaring problems with the original, in that the text was particularly tiny.

Not quite sure what to watch next. Danmachi s5 is done, but I'm not sure if I want to rewatch all of that right now. I have the second season of another show as well, but not sure if I want to watch that right now either. It is March thankfully, so we're not too far off from more shows ending. I took a small anime break and finally got around to watching Chernobyl.

For games, I've started on Monster Hunter Rise and my used copy of Smash Ultimate came in, so I'm trying to remember what I was doing in that when I borrowed it.

Been gifted Yakuza Pirates, Atelier Yumia (late march release), Granblue Versus Rising, and I've also been trying to go hard in Path of Exile's new mini-league. Plus I got like 70% through a Shadow of War playthrough I want to get back at. My plate is too stacked for XCX for a few months lol

I recently watched the Mashle dub on NF. It was alright.

Of course, before that, I'd seen a summary for part of the season, so I'd spoiled some of it... although then I also mixed up some of the details with ANOTHER series about a non-magical kid going to a magic school (albeit that one was a manga) because that's a big trend now, I guess.

I think I found Tri harder than 3U or GU, but I'm not sure how much of that was the actual game and how much of it was me just plain getting better over the course of three games and nearly 10 years.

Tri had the added wrinkle of underwater fights, whereas I don't remember any from World and haven't had any in Rise yet. I'm guessing they don't exist. I didn't get iceborne though, so maybe that had them. I do have sunbreak, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm currently going through old quests and knocking out the ones I skipped while advancing. Finished up through the 3* ones so far. I kind of miss hammering enemies, but it's really nice to be able to cut tails with the great sword.

I see. I found world and rise (base games) to both be pretty easy and about the same level but maybe I just have too much experience to judge it accurately. I think world was the only one where I 100% all quests without a single triple cart. Rise got a triple cart but it was more fluke than actually being harder.

Wilds is about the same difficulty as well.

Tri was hard for me to judge because it was the first MH I had access to multiplayer, which obviously makes hunts way easier since stats didn't change for multiplayer back then. Compared to soloing freedom and unite it felt much easier, except alatreon. So in general I found tri pretty easy even though 3rd gen is definitely my favorite. I think 3U got the most hours from me and it's the only one I actually completed the guild card in. I miss old MH online. Now that everything scales and we have SoS, the community of lobbies died so I end up playing mostly alone or with IRL friends.

The animation is so bad it's comical. Entire fights are like 3 frames. Pacing was also pretty terrible. I hear it picked up in the second core a bit but I didn't make it quite that far. IIRC the story itself wasn't butchered or anything.

The only Monster Hunter I have is the PS2 original. I am old and uncool.

I picked up the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection on a lark and decided that I like it. The games have always been complicated and poorly explained, but there was a time when they were ... non-Byzantine.

It's funny that people are expressing remorse about their purchase of the game. They were pretty clear about exactly what you're getting; all the games are pretty much untouched from the way they were twenty years ago, save for a few optional cheats, and one game (so far) having online play. I knew that going in and I'm having a blast. I'm also looking forward to playing around with a major glitch I found a long time ago in 7 Trials to Glory.

Fnished up makenai finally. I didn't manage to finish it while it was airing and kept just not getting around to it. Good show. Hope we get a season 2 eventually. The arc with Komari was kind of annoying.

Still playing MH Rise. I'm at hr7 and going to do my first hard rank Diablos fight. Also, I looked up some tips for rampage quests and they're doable now. Still not my favorite, but at least I can get through them.

Been rewatching some Bleach arcs to get me all hyped up for Rebirth of Souls that's coming out next week, I've basically played every big anime arena/fighter game but I've never been as hyped up as I am for this new one since it looks like it's going to be a genuinely good game.
Will start the new season soon though, Danmachi will probs be first on my list

Danmachi season 5 was just ok IMO. Season 4 still the peak of the series.

Solo leveling probably gonna have it's best episode next week. I feel like after jeju island, the manwha went downhill a bit.

then i watched all of kobayashi, spy x family, sakamoto days, kaiju 8, and i just finished chainsaw man

Been playing the Atelier Yumia demo today. MAN this is an unoptimized pile of garbage PC port. Consoles apparently run fine, but this is like, Monster Hunter Wilds level of performance when the open world's got too many things going on. Sucks because the game itself is fine. Maybe they can do some performance patches like they did with Ryza

Coming from wilds, hopefully I can run this thing without too much issue. It looks fun but I had heard the port was awful. Then I look at the other game I want to play, rise of the ronin, and it apparently has an even worse port to PC than either wilds or yumia and struggles to hit 40 fps on a 4090 on medium settings.

Japan got to get their PC porting shit together.

i don't even really understand, it's not like the performance issues are only effecting mid to low tier hardware, it's effecting the high end current mega shit, too.

like they had to have at least ran it and saw that it runs like ass. do they just think "oh everyone has 5090s it will probably run fine then" and ship it? i don't get it.

even the switch version runs and looks better than my PC. it's fucked up man. they've gotta do a graphical patch or the PC version is cooked

I've been re-reading Molester Man lately. I was thinking of using it in my manga posts on Imgur, but it's a little more.. cringey than I remembered. It's got a fair amount of that 2000's single guy, internet/4chan dweller, crude, often misogynistic humor that many of us are familiar with.

Definitely still good though; Kansai is easily best girl.

I've really come to like ishura. I'll be sad when it's eventually over. In a world where everyone should have plot armor, no one does. They setup the mystery of the hero and the true demon king quite well too. Piecing it together almost feels like figuring out dark souls lore or something. It's always referenced but never explained, although it seems next episode we get that explanation.

You ought to check it out. Sort of similar to Train Man; it's a (allegedly) true account of a guy who initially gets mistaken for a stalker/criminal by a woman, and after the misunderstanding is cleared up he gradually gets closer to her and her friends and comes out of his shell, all recounted through his posts of the events in the internet.

The humor I mentioned before is mostly in his internal dialogue; talking about fapping, how he wants to do the girls, etc.

I obtained yumia. So far it's running...ok. Got too much to play right now. Was playing an hrpg thats super long cause I thought I could beat it before yumia came out (only like half way through), I still play monster hunter with friends, i want to play xenoblade X DE, and I want to play rise of the ronin.

Also everyone at my house has covid and I'm startin to feel kind off myself the last two days so if I stop posting for a while, I probably died, as I am an at risk individual (slightly weakened immune system). Hopefully I'm fine though. Might need to consider antivirals but with MCAS I have enough chance of those fuckin me up just as bad maybe. I wish I ever had any useful info at all about any medical decisions I have to make that could kill me, but alas, nothing I can do.
