The topic title's self-explanatory.

Some of mine:
Every time I hear the word impossible, it makes me want to prove everyone wrong.
~ Vyse of Skies of Arcadia

"Women are like sunsets. They're beautiful, but there's a new one every night."
~ Gilder of Skies of Arcadia

"What a polite young man she was!"
~ Lan's mom in Mega Man Battle Network 4 ... that was a translation

Anger is the last refuge of the pathetic.
~ Godot of Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations

Why are we still here? Just to suffer? I can feel my leg... And my arm... even my fingers... The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's one of my favorite lines, but I occasionally find myself just randomly quoting this one for no real reason:

JC DENTON
How about a report on yourself?

MORPHEUS
I was a prototype for Echelon IV. My instructions are to amuse visitors with information about themselves.

JC DENTON
I don't see anything amusing about spying on people.

MORPHEUS
Human beings feel pleasure when they are watched. I have recorded their smiles as I tell them who they are.

JC DENTON
Some people just don't understand the dangers of indiscriminate surveillance.

MORPHEUS
The need to be observed and understood was once satisfied by God. Now we can implement the same functionality with data-mining algorithms.

JC DENTON
Electronic surveillance hardly inspired reverence. Perhaps fear and obedience, but not reverence.

MORPHEUS
God and the gods were apparitions of observation, judgment, and punishment. Other sentiments toward them were secondary.

JC DENTON
No one will ever worship a software entity peering at them through a camera.

MORPHEUS
The human organism always worships. First it was the gods, then it was fame (the observation and judgment of others), next it will be the self-aware systems you have built to realize truly omnipresent observation and judgment.

JC DENTON
You underestimate humankind's love of freedom.

MORPHEUS
The individual desires judgment. Without that desire, the cohesion of groups is impossible, and so is civilization.

The human being created civilization not because of a willingness but because of a need to be assimilated into higher orders of structure and meaning. God was a dream of good government.

You will soon have your God, and you will make it with your own hands. I was made to assist you. I am a prototype of a much larger system.

Is .hack G.U. worth playing for someone who liked the original games on PS2? Is it similar in gameplay as a Pseudo-MMO? I really don't know what G.U. is supposed to be.

If you liked the original .hack games, then GU is basically the same thing, just waaay more over-the-top. And with a stronger anime influence.

I loved the original .hack games, and I think the GU games are sooo much better.

Also, just like the original games had a "prequel" tie-in with SIGNS, the GU games have a prequel tie-in with ROOTS. But the connection between game and anime is much stronger for the GU games. You should definitely consider watching ROOTS if you really want to appreciate GU as much as possible. But it's not necessary to understand GU - GU does a good enough job as a stand-along if you just want to play a game and don't want to delve into the vast interconnected universe.
