That depends if the next game is going to be the finale or just the finale pt 1. Probably 2028 as a switch 2 launch title.

I don't see them dragging the final chapter out between two games, but I do see them doing a "Surprise! This alternate reality has epilogue content!" followup to whatever they're doing to rewrite the original game.

Honestly, it's been so long since I've played the original and I was confused as hell while I was playing it then, so I'm not sure what that would be.

People need to stop treating these releases as a part of a game. They are separate games making up one story.

Was FFXIII ever sold as a trilogy? I don't think Squeenix usually does that.
