Y'all remember Nathan Barnatt?
No.

Oh, him. Yeah, he's terrible.
Or to be more precise, I only really know him because another channel had him on for a couple guest appearances as that character specifically, and it was terrible. And most fans of the channel
hated
it, to the point where they stopped having him on.

His popularity has dropped off considerably though and it's really sad to see.
That's pretty much the fate of most channels on YouTube. Very few still pull in the numbers they did a decade ago. The massive glut of content means there's far more to watch than ever before in history, and no single human could ever hope to watch even a small cross-section of it. So potential audiences are being spread farther and farther apart, thinner and thinner.
It's part of why I've said for a while now I'm not sure the younger generations are even going to HAVE pop culture decades from now. Most of them aren't really going to have any media in common because they'll all be watching different stuff, or if they
are
watching stuff in common, it'll be shorts that are forgotten almost as soon as you've watched them, so it won't form a shared media culture in the way we've had for the last 80-100 years or so.
