He's been around for years and used to dominate Youtube through the 2010's. He's responsible for a ton of characters, Keith Apicary, Trale Lewous, Back Pain Wayne, Ray Amsly, and most recently "Dad". His popularity has dropped off considerably though and it's really sad to see. I've been following him a lot closer the past couple years and watching him struggle to get a foothold on the industry again and I really want him to succeed. He's been talking about making a film set on the "Dad" character and it really seems like something that could actually get him going somewhere. A Horror/Comedy that has the potential to go into a series. I'm certainly excited to see what comes out of it. I've seen his other short films and they are very well done. I really hope this can give him the motivation to focus full force on something, which I really feel has been his biggest problem.

I saw him at the last Game Grumps Live show where he opened, too. It was a blast!

Keith Apicary

Oh, him. Yeah, he's terrible.

Or to be more precise, I only really know him because another channel had him on for a couple guest appearances as that character specifically, and it was terrible. And most fans of the channel hated it, to the point where they stopped having him on.

That's pretty much the fate of most channels on YouTube. Very few still pull in the numbers they did a decade ago. The massive glut of content means there's far more to watch than ever before in history, and no single human could ever hope to watch even a small cross-section of it. So potential audiences are being spread farther and farther apart, thinner and thinner.

It's part of why I've said for a while now I'm not sure the younger generations are even going to HAVE pop culture decades from now. Most of them aren't really going to have any media in common because they'll all be watching different stuff, or if they are watching stuff in common, it'll be shorts that are forgotten almost as soon as you've watched them, so it won't form a shared media culture in the way we've had for the last 80-100 years or so.

It's such a weird thought, like looking into an alternate universe when remembering Trale did ads for things other than Ski-Tells.
