What is it with Hollywood taking TV crime dramas and turning them into comedy movies? 21 Jump Street, Dragnet, Charlie's Angels, CHiPs, Starsky & Hutch...

That's just a decent movie overall. The fact it's a breakup/rom com really gives credit to it. Those movies are usually so bad.

That's a tough one. Maybe 21 jump Street or The Hangover.

I don't think there was ever a larger drop off in quality from one movie to its sequel than from The Hangover to The Hangover 2. So given that, I think I'm going to give it to 21 Jump Street. 22 Jump Street was still pretty good.

Is there a term for that kind of comedy? Stoner Comedy? I know what you mean, I haven't seen any of these as they aren't exactly my style either, but I wouldn't be against it. I may have been the most likely to watch 21/22 Jump Street for reasons I don't know.

I mean either way I disagree, I didnt think hangover 2 or 3 were that much worse than the first one. I loved neighbors and thought 2 was stupid as fuck. Horrible bosses 2 was not nearly as good as the first.

but to each their own, I know a lot of people didnt like the sequels

What makes The Hangover 2 the worst sequel ever to me, is that not only is it a bad movie, a bad sequel, and significantly less funny than the original, but it literally copies the original movie's script verbatim, changes the setting, and does everything worse.

21 Jump Street is one of the GOATs. The sequel is good too, but I liked the first one more.

40 Year Old Virgin is another great one. Havent seen the others though.

Out of these, The 40 Year-old Virgin.

Otherwise, one of my all time favories is "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood". That one DEFINITELY wouldn't be made today.
