The most annoying part of 2000 was that we'd had a solid year of this playing pretty much nonstop, starting the previous New Years:

Well, I graduated in 1999, so 2000 was basically the only full year I had as an adult before everything went to hell in 2001.

Probably no one because nearly all of us will be dead.

Some of us won't even make it to Halley's Comet coming back (2061). Assuming any of us make it that far and that society won't have collapsed by then and we all die fighting in the Water Wars.

At the time I lived in central time and we were watching the ball drop in NYC (so it would be 11pm for us) and the power suddenly went out. My mom yelled "Oh my God its already happening!". A few minutes later the power came back on and everything was fine.
