They have been Alphabet for a long time (longer then Facebook being Meta)
But they recognize that "Google" has more brand recognition and don't make a big deal out of it.
This is the only thing that technically makes Alphabet the least worst. The fact that most people don't even realize it's a thing.
It's also technically not exactly the same, because "Google" still exists as a subsidiary. Whereas Facebook is now just a brand name under the Meta umbrella.
They're all terrible and pointless though.
